The park opens at 9:00!
Reservation is at 8:45am. It was the only one available besides 8:35. We are at a Disney resort and can get in half an hour early.
How will we make it in time trying to get in with the crowd?
We have never been in the Star Wars area and don’t even know where Savi’s workshop is 😬.
Will we make it in time?

Yes, as long as you arrive to enter the park as soon as ETPE begins, you'll be just fine. Guests are being allowed to enter the park before ETPE begins and you will want to join those walking towards Batuu. You will be held there until ETPE hours begin.

I would recommend using MyDisneyExperience app now and turn on the 'Shops' filter in Disney's Hollywood Studios to give you an idea of exactly where you need to go. You can do this now so that you have a better idea where you'll be going to day of your reservation.

What if you aren’t staying onsite, so no entry privileges, and made a pre-park opening reservation for Savi’s? I have a choice of 8:25 am on the day we are there. How does that work? Would it be better for us to take an evening time of 7:45 pm?

When people have early morning ADRs before park open, there are always CMs with signs at the entrance and they scan your magicband/check your reservation and then let you in. Sometimes they’re placed throughout the park, too, and tell you where to meet up with the next CM. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the same with Savi’s and Droid Depot reservations since they deal with this on a daily basis. If you don’t see any signs, just ask a CM at guest relations.

I did Savi’s in December 2019 and had a reservation like 5 minutes after park open. That was back when you couldn’t join the Rise virtual queue until park open and about three weeks after Rise even opened, so getting in was an absolute circus. I almost started crying because there was no way out of the hordes of people (all moving at a snail’s pace toward Galaxy’s Edge), and I was worried we’d be too late for our reservation and still be charged the $200 pp fee. We got over there about 20 minutes late, and they didn’t even bat an eye. I didn’t know then that they had people to help with early reservations lol. And in general I think most reservations come with a 15-minute window that they won’t count you as a no-show.

Oh wow! Thanks for the information. I was able to get an 11:45 reservation thank goodness.

You might want the later time, unless you are going to ship the light saber home. They are pretty big and will be awkward carrying it around in the park all day. It's a great experience, enjoy!

They have in-park storage! Pre-covid, they let you check your saber at Droid Depot and have them delivered to the front of the park for pickup when you left at the end of the day. They actually had that for any merch. They discontinued that service when they reopened, and I’m not sure if they’ve brought it back yet, but you can still take it up to the front of the park and check it yourself. The sabers aren’t allowed on rides, so it’s pretty much necessary unless you’re heading back to your hotel right after or a person from your party becomes the designated saber holder for the day.

At this time package delivery to the front of the park or resorts is not being offered.

Yes we plan to ship it as soon as we finish it. They are able to ship from Savi right?

Good to know, thanks! When I was at Universal in August they had brought it back, but I hadn’t tried at Disney yet. Fingers crossed it comes back soon, at least if they want my merch money lol!

I did not know that! When my friend built his, (after re-opening) he did it at the end of the day because we didn’t want to have to worry about carrying it around all day. And finding a “saber-sitter” when we went on rides. They never mentioned it could be held at the front of the park, we would have gladly done that! We just figured that since they wouldn’t hold other purchases at the front of the park anymore or send items back to the resorts, that the option was no longer available.
