Build your own Lightsaber

We are going to Disney in December, and my sons are enthraled with all things Star Wars. I know that there is a store in DTD that you can create your own lightsaber, and I wanted opinions on this.

How much are they? Are they worth it, or do they break easily? and What are their features? (light up, make sounds, etc.)

You can make them at either Once Upon a Toy in DTD or at shop at the exit of Star Tours. They are 20.00, the kids can customize the color they want it to light up, what type of handle, and they do make noise and you can actually change the sound by chaning the crystals around. They are pretty good quality. I would consider them decent deal for $20 and get this, they actually give you batteries and either a Sith or Jedi trading pin at the register when you pay for them!!!

I didn't get a chance to read everyone's replies...but they cost $19.99 and I think they are worth it if your child really enjoys Star Wars. My son plays with his all the time...You gotta figure you probably would spend that much at Target or something on toys eventually...why not get something your kid can build him/herself and it has meaning because it's from Disney!

my ds is only 3.5, I am really glad we waited until the last day to do the light saber because he was totally obsessed w/it for DAYS. he still loves it and will be a Jedi for Halloween. It still works! the cover to the crystals broke and we had to cover it w/a bandaid(his idea) but it's holding up quite well considering.

I would let them try to let them see "Jedi Academy" show too. They pick several kids to train to be a Jedi. My only tip would be to explain that everyone wants to get picked and only a few will be. I didn't say anything to my son about the possibility and he took it all in stride when he didn't get picked. BUT he is also old enough (9 1/2) to understand.
