Build Your Own Lightsaber - No More????

hey everyone

Have they stopped the build your own lightsaber? I have noticed at Tatooine traders and Disney springs they do not have build your own lightsaber anymore. They have the standard Mickey lightsabers in their place. Can anyone confirm if it is true and they do not have build your own lightsabers anymore? Or does EPCOT mousegears still carry? Does anyone know why they don’t currently have this?

We were at Mousegears in Epcot last week and it said they were currently out of stock. The area was closed off and there was a sign.

wow seems strange to be Out OF Stock. That thing is a gold mine for Disney. I can't imagine they'd stop having them.

That’s what I was afraid of for mousegear. Apparently they have said out of stock since January. Does anyone know if they are bringing them back?

I can't believe that would stop selling them here. That is a cash cow for them. I am always suing my Jedi mind trick to get my son out of there before he sees them!!!

I noticed at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago, the Build-Your-Own station just had some pre-packaged ones there. The signs and instructions for the build were all still there, but there were no individual parts. I don't know if that means there have been any changes, but I did wonder.

They were gone when we went in March, too, and they just had the pre-packaged ones for sale in its place. No signs or anything saying they were out. I wondered if they had stopped doing them, too.

That’s what I was afraid of. If anyone is going in the next couple weeks and feels up for the task of asking and than posting. That would be appreciated. So I know if I should prepare the little one for this disappointment or not.

I don't know anyone in merchandise. Not sure what's happening

This would be great to know ahead of time since we just have to prepare the kids. I see photos of the setup at the Star Wars Galactic Outpost at DS, but there's a sign that says Temporarily out of stock.

Oh no! My boys made them last year and now my daughter wants to make one this year! Great experience and the CM that’s assisted us was awesome!!

I wonder if they are getting new models of pieces? To match up with the new movie characters maybe?
We haven't done one in a few years so I haven't kept up with if they have the newer ones or not.
But if they let them run out it is possible they are going to return but with new models.
At least there's hope that's what they are doing, since it says Temporary.
I'd think if they are doing away with them they would remove it all together, right?

The one I saw at DS could be all the remaining pieces sent to one location.

Very true! I would think with the investment to the setup and the continuation of the movies and addition of the new Star Wars land, this would be a big money maker for them. I can't imagine them removing it. I'm hoping some new parts arrive in the next couple weeks so my kiddos can make their own lightsabers. At least they can buy some that are made or build their own droids if those are the only options when we're there. I have to say that I am super thankful to have these boards and the knowledge that these might NOT be available, so I can prep the kids before we get there so they are not disappointed at the parks. So much better than having sad kids at HS.
