party:I am getting soo excited now. In 21 days we will be on our way to the airport (luck permiting )

Before we go on holiday we normally have a few "traditions" such as

watching 1 disney movie every night leading up to the holiday :happytv:

Going on a shopping spree to the trafford centre the afternoon/night before we leave for last minute bits and bobs (more to help the night go quicker) :hourglass

Getting up super early on the day of the flight and having a fry up before doing last minute checks to celebrate the start of the holiday. party:

What do you do on the build up to your holiday :woohoo:

I'm quite boring really, just like to wash my car and gut the insides before it goes onto the drive and getting my hair cut the day before.

Thats pritty much all i do. Quite boring lol

Hi:goodvibes

We have 36 days to go before our WDW trip:cool1:

We have 2 children and are planning a type of countdown calander - we are going to print off some Florida favourite places pictures - roll them up and place them inside a balloon - then blow up the balloons and pin them to a large cork board so each day one of the children can take it in turns to pop a balloon and discover the adventure inside to build up the excitement!

Sx

We have a countdown calendar - DD takes off one Mickey 'head' a day

I made Mickey pancakes for DD on Saturday (mold from kitchen shop at DTD) and Mickey waffles on sunday.

Got some Mickey shaped chocolate covered ice creams from Morrisons for DD.

Lots of talking about what we are doing on holiday - spent sunday saying in two months time we will be on the plane now etc.

DD (aged 5 ) wrote a letter to Mickey - have put it on the wall - it is very cute - says Dear micky I am lookie forward to seeing you love Anna.

I don't have any traditions but I have been spending so much time on here getting lots of tips and ideas - I must be on 10 times a day! Also listening to lots of Disney music and Buying an insane amount of clothes that I'll probably not get the chance to wear! Only 15 days to go!

We each have a 'chuff chart' (it's a military thing, but basically a countdown calendar). I make them with a box to cross off for each day left (usually at about a month out) and with photos and pictures according to where we're going.

So the one on my office wall right now is for WDW next month and has photos of OKW and of Disney Halloween decorations.

We also do the "where will we be in x weeks time", and watch Disney Parks DVDs.

By the way, it's just us, no children ... :rolleyes1

we do the disney movie thing too, although not every day! 32 days till our holiday... not sure there are even that many Disney DVD's out!

We always do the whole... "this time in 32 days we'll be in Mexico at Epcot having dinner at La Hacienda!!".

The week or two before we go we'll also have a massive health kick, and really be careful with our dinners, *** we know we're gonna out on weight at WDW!

I always write out lists too... what to pack, what I need to buy, what has to go in my hand luggage... it all helps me get ridiculously excited.

And like a couple of PP's, its only me and the wife... no kids!

Oh I'd forgotton about the diet!

Both myself and DH are doing slimming world - what is keeping me going is the thought of FOOD on hols.

My slimming world leader is going same time what are the odds she walks past whilst i'm enjoying a Ghiradelli sundae :lmao:

We usually go out for dinner the night before we go away. I can't be bothered cooking and there's probably nothing left in the fridge either.

Rachel :D

Just over a month for us I have been excited since we booked.

Normally the week we go I start to go into that pre holiday panic mode, You know the whole have I got all the stuff I need, where are the tickets etc (DH knows better than to stop me). All of which is normally in the bags I have packed and triple checked the three weeks before that.:rotfl:

The week before we go we try not to have too much food wise in the house and then I give each room a clean. The night before we go its normally a take away so we only have a couple of plates to wash.

Ha ha , we don't watch one every night from booking or anything like that (we booked 18 months ago, and as much as i love disney, i think we would end up in some sort of asylum if i made us do that.) Just from a couple if weeks away :)

well our holiday dvds have been on nearly everyday!!:happytv:
usually the week before the holiday it gets quite hectic, with haircuts and waxing involved :scared1: suitcases are more or less packed the weekend before and night before we have a chippy meal,
This holiday will be completly different for us as my other dd partner and our 2 grandchildren-aged 3 and 8 months will be with us:cloud9:
and altogether there will be a total of 21 of us all family out at the same time but staggered through the holiday!! and all staying on Cumbrian Lakes!

I get everyone in the mood by
A paper chain countdown

We have countdown nights and theme them on the parks, Epcot is the easiest, choose a country and do food and drink from there, we finish the night off with a you-tube video of a ride and fireworks.

I get everyone to chip in with their ideas of things to do where to go etc and I create a planner which we go through on our countdown nights.

We go out for a meal the night before and I dont usually go to bed, I stay up and do washings and ironings.

I put on that free Disney Planning dvd that Disney sent out the last few years. I must play it in whole or parts of it every day for about two weeks before hand. It makes me feel like its my first time.
We also have a Mickey waffle maker that only makes an appearance nearer the time. ;)

One thing i always do before we go to Wdw is clean, clean the house from top to bottom. It gets the biggest clean of the whole year, and why? i wont even be there to apreciate it.
Oh yes and i worry, it drives dh mad, i will worry about everything, and i always dream about missing the plane:eek:.

Go shopping to the Trafford Centre for holiday clothes, watch the WDW DVD, WDW youtube videos, listen to Sorcerer Radio...
