How is wdw as far as bugs? Ie Mosquitos mostly. We are staying at POR, will there be a lot there? I was thinking of bringing bug spray, but idk if I will need it... I know there aren't bugs at most amusement parks like 6 flags so idk... Thoughts?

I've stayed at POR 4 times, and never had to use bug spray. I think you can leave it home.:)

I'll beg to differ... Bring the bug spray and spray your legs and ankles... We always end up with a few bites walking from POFQ and back... Especially if you stop and sit on the benches, early evenings ..

Whatever they are, they leave a red dot and itch like the dickens... We bring a little ammonia to remedy the itch... Better to have than have not... And once they bite, too Kate to apply ...

They are called noseum, because you do not see them , worst itch I have ever experienced.

We didn't experience bugs at the parks, however I could see the exception being AK if you go toward the night time (we were only there during the day). AK is set in a pretty heavily wooded atmosphere. We experienced minor, but not overly bothersome bugs at the hotel walking back to our room late at night sometimes.

Always a good idea to pack bug spray just in case. We've never had an issue with them last few years, even during the boat rides from POFQ to DTD, but I've read and heard several comments this year for some reason that there have been a lot of issues with bugs.....

Could be a heavier rainy season ?

Being from GA, if we were to go to Florida in the fall, I would take the bug spray. I do know that South GA is nat-crazy right now and I an only wonder what FLA is like.

Off spray will NOT work on NATS.

Here is a little helpful tip.

Victoria Secret's AMBER ROMANCE body spray, is the only thing that will keep nats off.

Trust me, 1000's of Louisiana coastal marsh fisherman and duck hunters use it!

Lil help from ole' DisneyDad!

Like I said, "Bugs what bugs?"

Wife is an Avon representative and they have a spray product of bugs and sun... suntan lotion combined with a big spray...

Perfect for me in Disney, shorts and sun and shorts and noseeums....works and contains no DEET...

Mosquitos are attracted to water... They stay around it. I've never been to POR but common sense would say bring it. I bring it every time I go and I always use it at night and in AK especially. I also bring the off clip and clip it on the stroller for my kid and run it during night time. I'd rather be safe than sorry. ;)

I've been to WDW at least a dozen times, during all different times of the year, and never needed bug spray. And they usually love to nibble on me!

Me, too - have been on several WDW trips and, although I pack insect repellent, but have never had to us it.

Disney contracts with snakes and other lizards to entertain the Guests. They do not contract with bugs.
