We just returned from our 2nd stay in the Cabins and loved it! We are officially hooked on Ft. Wilderness now! We would like to return in June and stay in the Cabins again, but would like to know how bad are the bugs during that time of year? Are some Cabin loops worse than others due to some border streams and others don't? Thanks for your help!

Not sure how it is every year there, but last year, in early June, the yellow flies were awful! I got bit numerous times from those and didn't really have any other problems with other bugs.

There are no bugs in Florida, it is just a ploy by the locals to keep us away. They make up stories of bugs to keep us away so they get their choice of sites during peak times. :lmao:

Nonsense. There are bugs. Lots of em. Big ones. The mosquitos are the size of elephants and can pick up small children and carry them to their lair in the woods. I saw a yellow fly eat an entire VW last summer. Stay away. I will risk the danger for you. LOL

Seriously though, there are tons of bugs in June. The mosquitos and yellow flies are terrible at that time, but use some good repellent (get their "woods" varieties) and you should be OK. As far as better areas, no they eat us all. That is the time of the year when I go out in the mornings and cheer on the fogging truck.
