Bug spray for W&D?

Hi all! Getting very excited/scared about running my first 1/2!

Quick question for anyone who ran last year's W&D - Were the bugs bad while you were running? Mosquitoes love me, and I do not want to be eaten alive, but I also hate blocking my sweat glands with bug spray. So do you think I will need this since we will be running through non-park areas?

Can't recall one bite on DW or myself. WDW is very attentive when it comes to keeping the blood-suckers away.

I don't remember having any problems with bug bites either. If I remember correctly, before the race you wait in a grassy area until corrals open. That time would have been my only concern for bites, but since I wear compression socks on longer runs I didn't worry about it.

I brought bug spray with me last year. I forgot to apply it before leaving the room. I was kicking myself on the bus ride over to the start. In the long run I was happy I forgot to put it on, as it was totally unnecessary and would have just burned my eyes as it glistened down my face.

Same thing for me. Was not a need.
