I have been reading all these posts about flu bugs, stomach bugs, etc. I hope everyone is feeling better. I have been sick on vacation at WDW (one day - it was the worst) so I feel for you.

We are going 3/2. I hope the ship has aired out by then and the bugs are gone. Has anyone cruised in March and find there is a lot of illness on board like in January? I guess I will pack all the necessary meds for any illness!

Stay healthy everyone :)

It is sad to think that after all the planning and anticipation one could be sick for part of their wonderful cruise and I hope everyone feels better soon. According to the news we are in the peak of flu season, so beware. Our schools in Md are full of illness' - three of my g/children went to the dr w/the bug only to learn nothing could be done...recommend rest, liquids, tylenol or motrin for the high fever :( Dr. says expect it to last 3-5 days. Wishing everyone a speedy recovery.

Remarkably, the topic of conversation with our servers on disembarkation day of the 1/19 cruise turned to all the rules and regulations that food preparation workers are subjected to on the Disney cruise ships. Let me just say that the folks who serve you your meals are painfully aware of how a cruise ship is basically a "closed" system and that illness can spread through a ship like wildfire. I know that some of the assistant servers wear gloves when setting the tables. DD Sarah had asked for two chocolate milks for breakfast. He brought her two, but only one would fit in the glass. He could NOT leave the other carton on the table. And he was not allowed to leave it at his beverage station for more than two minutes. I told him that I would have the other chocolate milk, so he poured it in my glass. So imagine, if there are those kinds of rules for handling something as simple as a glass of milk, just think of what other measures are taken to ensure our safety.

It's a shame that so many people have reported being sick (my DW Sue included) on recent cruises, but lets not blame DCL just yet (and I don't think that anyone has). Remember that a lot of us flew down in the sealed fusilage of an airplane before we boarded the Disney Magic. And I still think that Sue's troubles began when we got off the ship in St. Maarten (although we can't be certain). As 4nana says, it is cold and flu season.

Take care everyone. And get well soon.
