Buffets, desserts and Dining Plan

We have the dining plan for our late Sept-early Oct WDW trip. After seeing all the pictures of the yummy desserts, I want to try them! Here's my question, though. We have PS reservations for a number of buffets/family style meals. Can you order separate desserts at these places, and still have it on the Dining Plan? I think they all come with a fixed dessert, but can we order a separate different one? What about if we do a breakfast buffet (Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace), can we get a dessert then/there? Anyone?

As far as I know, all the buffets include different kinds of desserts that are also all-you-can-eat. As far as the family style meals are concerned, I know at Ohana's you can order a separate dessert, but it is NOT included in the dining plan. O'Hana's gives you pineapple w/caramel dipping sauce as the included dessert.
