Do they have any kind of "to go" containers on the buffet for taking food back to your room?

I don't recall any to-go containers. However, you can take a tray back to your room. Plates, glasses, silverware, etc. Just put it outside like room service (and tell your stateroom host) when done.

I agree with apathetic. I have never seen to go containers, however you certainly can take food back to your room. We have a DS who never gets up in time for breakfast so we always bring him something back.

No need to sit the tray and dirty dishes outside your door. Your cabin host will pick it up when he/she cleans the room. The halls are rather narrow and trays outside of doors make it even harder to navigate, especially if you have mobility challenges.

We just take the tray(s) back to our room. We also normally bring a roll of plastic wrap and will cover up any leftovers that we can save for later that won't go bad. Normally breakfast pastries.

You can ask the servers for a lid for your plate so that people don't breathe on you food while on the elevator or walking down the hall. If they don't have lids at Cabanas, you can put a clean plate over your food and travel that way.

That's good to know! Does anyone have any pics of these lids? I wonder if they're strong enough for me to put another plate on top so I can carry multiple plates easily

A bit fuzzy, but here's a trayful of covered plates in the dining room. Same cloche.

We've cruised on both the Dream (2015) and Fantasy (last month). There were no trays on either cruise to carry food back to the room. I asked a server and was told no to both the trays and something to cover the plates with. One server did recommend covering with another plate and I was able to stack 2 plates of food this way. I put utensils on top of the second plate. Carrying drinks was just not happening unless you have a second adult with you just to carry drinks.

We had trays in Cabanas on our 2014 cruises (Dream & Fantasy). Maybe this has changed?
