In your experience, is it a bad idea to take the first seating at a WDW buffet?

I want to eat at Boma for breakfast, but buffets kind of skeeve me out. I thought I could alleviate some of my stress by going at the first seating time, but will the food be at it's freshest? Or will some of the hot items be sitting out waiting for diners to arrive before opening?

We were in the 1st seating for dinner at Boma. The staff was bringing out the food just as we were entering. Everything was delicious and fresh. They do an awesome job of keeping the buffet VERY clean considering the volume of people they serve.

At home, I hate eating buffets. We never do. But at WDW, I've never had a problem at any of them. Food is always fresh and the places are usually amazingly clean.

I bet it would be fine. They change the dishes really frequently anyway though.

I have gotten over being squeamish at buffets with this logic... is you get fussy over who has touched your food you wouldn't eat anything!!

Know what you mean though. First sitting surely equals fewer fingers!! doesn't it??

And, at buffets at least you can check that your plate is clean before you put the food on it!

I bet you have a great time.

Getting the first seating will guarantee you are one of the first guests to get food from the buffet - if that puts your mind to ease some, I would go for that time personally.

I have quirks about food related things, too, and sometimes just thinking about that it ruins my meal so it's easier to just avoid it and enjoy the meal.
