At the buffets are you allowed to go up and get more than one plate? I've seen pictures of the food in threads on here and it seems like people only get one plate. I don't see how one plate could possibly last long enough for a character meal. Thanks in advance!

Well, that's why they call it a buffet...you get to get as many plates as you want! :)

(Sorry if that sounds smartalec-y, I have a fairly sarcastic sense of humor ;))

Enjoy your trip!!

I always do at least 2. Entree and dessert... :)
Sometimes 3 if something is really good :lmao:

Absolutely. That is the nature of a buffet. You can get as many plates as you want.

Yes, definitely more than once. When you go up leave your current plate at the table and then get a new one when you go back up.

Places like Whispering Canyon Cafe with the all you can eat platter, Garden Grill for instance (or 'ohana breakfast), the servers will ask you if you want anything else from the platters when they notice it is getting low. At least in our experience eating at those 2 places, that's how it worked.

I guess moral of the story with the buffets and the all you can eat platters- if you leave hungry, it's not to be blamed on WDW ;)

haha, thank you everyone :) I figured that but just never saw any pictures of multiple plates... lol... I've been dieting for Disney just so I can eat whatever I want when I get there :)

Yes, we always go up and get a clean plate when we go thru the buffet.

The buffets are "all you can eat". You can get as many plates as you like. When we do the breakfast buffets early in the morning, we don't need to eat again until early evening. Sometimes you can eat way too much at these things! :crazy2:

I've got insane food issues involving sauces touching each other (my DH mocks me all the time). Every time I go up to buffets I typically get a large plate for things without sauces and a few small plates dishes for foods with sauces. Totally acceptable. I tend to make several trips to the buffet for smaller amounts of food rather than one trip to load up my plate so that the foods aren't mixing together (*gag*) so I can really taste each item. The beauty of buffets is that you can get as much or as little food as you'd like in whatever manner you'd like it.

I am the same way! If you would like to join my support group we meet every friday at the carving station in Boma with our divided plates! ;)

My plan for any buffet.

First course - one small plate with a real food item. One bigger plate with two desserts.

Second course - one small plate with a dessert. One bigger plate with real food.

Third course - one small plate with a dessert. One bigger plate with one real meal item and a dessert.

That's how you enjoy a buffet.

The best advice for a buffet I ever heard was from my son when he was about 15. Eat until you are completely stuffed..... and they get one more serving.:rotfl2:

I'm like that too. My mom used to say she should buy me a sectional plate!:rotfl2: Of course I'm 40 now and can handle it a bit better, but not that much. DS is really funny. His ketchup (it has its own food group at my house) cannot be touching his other food at all. He will push all his other food together just to make space for his ketchup then proceed to dip his food in said ketchup! Go figure?!?!

I like to make multiple trips to buffets and have smaller amounts of food on my plate rather than piling it all up at once. Certain foods I would rather have grouped together.
