Buffet question for a not-quite 3yr old

DD is joining us on Sep trip w/ 1 yr-old DS and 2 yr-old DS.

Younger isn't an issue - still on baby food.

DS2 will not quite be 3 yrs old.

My question is, if my DD does not get him his own dining plan, what will happen in the buffet TS meals?

Does he literally have to eat off of her plate, or can she get him small amounts of food on his own plate?

Don't want to pay if not necessary because he really doesn't eat much, but don't want to get there and find he needed his own plan either!

Anyone with experience in this matter, I'd appreciate some feedback on how you did it and the results @ the meal.

He can have his own plate. For Buffets they don't have to share with Mom and Dad. Since under 3 he also will not be charged extra.

He can eat anything he wants off the buffet for free. He will not need his own plan - in fact he can't get the plan unless he's registered as 3 years old. Do not know the answer for sure to the question about whether or not he can have a plate but from what other posters have written it appears he can.

We went Dec 2007 with DD2 and at buffets she got her own plate of food and there was no additional cost. We had the dining plan for myself, DW, DS7 and DS4. DD2 was able to eat pretty much for free the whole week. At TS's that weren't buffets, she shared with DS's and DW. At buffets she just ate off buffet.

Good news to hear he doesn't need to have his own plan.

I know that is how most off-site restaurants handle it, but you just never know w/ Disney!!
