Buffet pricing for toddlers

In general, how do buffet restaurants charge for toddlers?? I know at WDW they get a plate for free if they're under 3, but I'm curious of local, non-Disney places work the same way??

We haven't been to a buffet since DD's been born (she's 2.5 now) but I've heard great things about a new Chinese buffet that opened up here & we're planning on going. DH asked whether they'd charge for DD and how much and I really had NO idea.

It would be rare to charge for under 3 and many places do not charge under four. Most chain type places work this way. Some of your higher end buffets do not charge under 6. Some will charge a smaller price for 3-6 (sometimes as low as 2.99) and more for 6-11 or so. We have found that many higher end, non chain places can and will bend the rules. DS was a VERY light eater as a young child and we had many places agree to charge him less or not at all. Both my boys LOVED and still do love buffets. Your little one should enjoy!

Meh, just don't care enough to find the number and call (ok, fine, I'm also very phobic of talking on the phone, lol!). We're going regardless & will find out for this specific restaurant soon enough, I was just more curious than anything since I really had no idea how they'd charge.

DD is a FANTASTIC eater... she packs it away & eats a lot of diverse foods, so I know I won't be wasting any money taking her to a buffet, lol!

A couple of the CHinese buffets near us charge something like $.65 per year of the kid's age, others charge a flat fee like $3.50 for ages 3-6, $5.50 for 7 to 10. It all depends but they're all very reasonable.
