Before leaving port the first day, would you recommend heading to the buffet or the sit down lunch in the restaurant? I've heard about the shrimp at the buffet, and wonder if they also serve it at the restaurant?

What are your recommendations between these two choices?

Thanks

Both are buffets and serve the same food. We always go to PC instead of Topsiders, this is just our preference. Probably because that's where we have always eaten on 3 cruises, also like to check our our dinner table from the number on our key card. One thing, you can get free soda at PC I think you have to pay at Topsiders, but could be wrong since we were never there. Just like the tropical feeling in PC to start the cruise. And then we only have to leave the restaurant go down 1 flight of stairs and right there is our room.

On the 7/6 Western, we weren't given a choice. We were directed to Topsiders. We were told that the food was the same at each resturant. The reason we were directed there was for crowd control. As the resturants filled up, the redirected the people to the next one, etc. It was buffet and tasted good (we were starving anyway!)

I know we are directed for crowd control but if someone really really wanted one over the other couldnt they just go? After all, we did "pay" for our cruise!

On our last 2 cruises we were directed to Topsiders - but we ate in PC. I just asked very nicely if we couldn't please eat in PC and the answer both times was yes.

I may be wrong, but I think that I read on Barb and Tony's website that some of the offerings were different? I'm not sure though.

There may be a few small variations in the buffet menus between Topsiders or Parrot Cay, but not much.

We also always go to PC as I hate eating in the hot sun. I would rather be sure and eat in the A/C. I believe they direct the first wave of people to Parrot Cay and then when that fills up they usher everyone up to Topsiders...that's how it seemed to be on our three 7-day cruises.

Last year, Beach Blanket on the Wonder didn't have any traditional kid-friendly stuff (like Mac and Cheese). I heard Parrot Cay has that on the buffet. Can anyone confirm? DS 5 is so pickey:( :( :( :(

DSs pizza is up by Topsiders - he cant get it at Parrot Cay. I guess we might need to eat at Topsiders
