Hey everyone! We are going to the world May 27-June 4. We are doing the regular dining plan so that gives us 8 QS and 8 TS. We are taking my parents for their first trip and for their anniversary. I am really really starting to stress over ressies. I am leaning more towards buffet style because that is what they like. I know we are going to try to do the following:

Chef Mickey's (B)
Crystal Palace (B)
Hoop-Dee-Doo (OOP)
Whispering Canyon (D)
50's Prime Time (L or D)
Akrusheus (B)

Please give me suggestions.....I have no idea where else to go! My parents have heard us talk about 50's and Whispering Canyon so much they want to go there. I never realized how hard it would be trying to keep everyone happy. We are early park people, my parents want to do late breakfasts. I am stressing.....HELP!!!!!

My only suggestion would be to split Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace far apart during your trip as you can. Both serve very, very similar food so you probably won't want to eat there back-to-back nights.

Buffets that I like and you don't have already are on your list are Tusker House for breakfast and the Biergarten for dinner. Yummy and fun.

For buffets I'd recommend Boma for breakfast and/or dinner, and Cape May Cafe for dinner.

Thank all of you for such quick responses....keep any suggestions you have coming!!!

I forgot about Tusker House....that is one of our favorites!

I can't recommend strongly enough the buffet at Boma. My family insists that we go there at LEAST once on every trip, often twice. The food is simply incredible. Some are afraid because it is billed as an "African-style" buffet, but there is food for absolutely everybody. Traditional and slightly exotic, INCREDIBLE desserts. Not to put too fine a point on this but... um, please, please, please, please don't leave this one off. I 100 percent guarantee that it'll be one of your favorite meals of the trip, if not your very favorite.

In other news, I'd also agree that you have what are basically some crossovers here. For example, food at Whispering Canyon is basically the same as at the Hoop-de-Doo. If you're going to do Chef Mickey's AND the Crystal Palace, do breakfast for one and lunch for the other. (Both have VERY nice lunch buffets, and both have practically identical breakfasts).

50's Primetime is one of my all-time favorites, and it's REALLY popular with older folks. Lots of fun and memories. (My dad loved when he was made to stand in the corner by our waitress 'cause he sassed her.)

My mother and my in-laws are all big fans of Biergarten. The rest of us like it too!

We are early park people, my parents want to do late breakfasts. I am stressing.....HELP!!!!!

For this particular problem, you might try you getting early snack-credit breakfast items, and then hitting the buffets just before they change from breakfast to lunch. They can get their late breakfast, and you can get your early lunch after the buffet items change over*. Then you all might be ready to eat again at around the same time.

Of course, this depends on them being able to wait until after 11 for breakfast.

*Void where prohibited, like places that aren't open for lunch.

If you are early park people, you might do Crystal Palace before the park opens, then you can eat finish and be in the hub during rope drop.

But if you want later breakfastes I would spend you TS credits for dinner or lunch.

My thoughts exactly!:thumbsup2

I agree with these, Boma!!!

I was sitting at Outer Rim bar one evening and a couple of folks came and set next to me. There were talking and I overheard the ladies say, I hope this is not another buffet. So think about that because the buffets, with the exception of Boma & Biergarten have pretty much the same offerings.

We are going to be in WDW 5/28-6/4, as well! :)

I haven't started thinking about ressies yet :guilty:...I guess I need to start my list, as well!

We are staying at POFQ for the first time. Never stayed here! Hope we like it! :upsidedow

I agree with Biergarten and Cape May- both are wonderful.

Cape May has snow crab legs, clams, mussells,, etc if your parents are shellfish fans.

Biergarten has all kinds of delicious German goodies.

I *highly* recommend Boma!! :woohoo:

It is absolutely delicious, great African flavors, savory and sweet... and the soups... oh MY GOD I love them!!!

I also second Biergarten! Yummy yummy German food, great entertainment...

You can't go wrong with either!

We're also trying Cape May for the first time this year, for the clambake dinner... it looks like a decent choice for a buffet.

And of course, we're returning to Boma (DH's request EVERY visit!!). :thumbsup2
