Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Syracuse? - Shopping

Hi !

Can someone recommend where the best general shopping options are - if choosing from Buffalo, Niagara Falls or Syracuse?

We are planning to be in that area this coming Thanksgiving and of course we don't want to miss the after-Thanksgiving sales!

I'm from Syracuse and also lived in Niagara Falls for 5 years.. so hopefully can help.

Syracuse - Our large mall is Carousel Mall, just outside downtown. Large mall with tons of stores. If your looking more for strip stores - Target and Kohls. You can check out Route 31 area in Clay too, they have Walmart, Target, Kohls and Great Northern Mall (smaller mall) all on one street.

If you want outlet - Genevia is just 40 mins away. I love these, they open at midnight Black Friday. This is heading toward Buffalo but you are still about 90 mins away from Buffalo.

Niagara Fall - Outlet shopping, Prime Outlets - I haven't been in 4 years but I still feel the Waterloo Outlets in Genevia/Waterloo are better. Mall wise, you'll have to head to Buffalo for that.

What kind of places do you normally shop at BF, more malls or stores like Target and such?

we like it (for everyday, have never done BF!), but they are light on food options and out in the middle of no where as far as restaurants.

Usually for Black Friday, I tend to shop at the malls so I can shop JC Penney, Disney Store, EB, etc. all in one place.

There is a pretty good distance between Buffalo/Niagara Falls and Syracuse. We are in the middle in Rochester, not sure if you knew the distance or not. It is a couple hours. Anyway, for Disney Store you need to go to Carousel Mall in Syracuse and it is the largest shopping area around there. My favorite mall in Buffalo is Walden Galleria.

I am from the Buffalo area. I love the Galleria Mall. They are always updating with new stores in fact in the past year or so the new stores have been upper end quality. I also love the Carousel Mall in Syracuse of course the fact that is has the closest DS near us does not hurt.
