Looking to do this in October. It will cost £248 for 5 of us - is it worth this price? I'm wondering if we'll need another meal after/before it as the food isn't what we'd normally choose, but would like to see the show.

Also - as live animals involved, does it smell?

I'd really like to see this and DS2 would love it as he loves cowboys, but it does seem quite pricey.

Any opinions?

I saw it for the 3rd time in January (1st time with Mickey and the gang present). We used our HB+ vouchers towards the cost.
I loved the original show and although I had reservations about how Mickey and the gang would affect it I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it.
We had a free upgrade from standard to premiere, (not sure how that worked as there were still people sitting in standard and empty seats in premiere)it meant we had a non alcoholic cocktail to start, a souvenier keyring and some petite fours with our coffee.
Apparently it's better seating, although i can't see any real difference myself, we've sat front row, back row and about 3rd row last visit and I'd say you get an unobstructed view wherever you are in the arena.

I do think it's worth the money, obviously! otherwise I wouldn't have gone back, it's a really fun night, you come out on such a high and with a very sore throat from shouting, proudly sporting your new cowboy hat, baring in mind the cost of alcohol at DLP the free beer top ups help soften the cost, even I had the beer last time, much to my DS's surprise, he told our server I don't normally drink beer.

No it doesn't smell, although the visit the kids go on about most was the one where one of the buffalo decided to have a poo right in front of us - that's kids for you :rotfl:

The food is OK, we do like chilli, although it's not quite as hot and spicy as I make at home, I usually end up sharing mine with my DS, children don't get it on their menu, the potatoes and veg are fine, a little greasy I though but edible, we only eat chicken breast meat at home, so the chicken legs don't appeal and I'm not a fan of ribs, sausage was OK. I love the corn bread starter though and the apple cobbler dessert.

We've always gone for 6.30 sitting so have had our normal lunch, usually just a snack and found the BB meal enough to keep us going til the following morning. I'd say every one should see it at least once, your DS will love it and I think the rest of the family will too.

Hope that helps, Jill :goodvibes

Thanks Jill - I think we would love it - just trying to pick my dh up off the floor when he heard the cost :rotfl::rotfl:

But, we may well end up with half board plus vouchers anyway, so could part pay with that. Is booking recommended? If we have the vouchers, should be we book via our concierge? Hoping to go on our second night.

Just noticed my ticker is under the 6 months - not much time left for planning :lmao:

We booked and paid at HNY consierge.
When we were there the show wasn't on every night so worth checking beforehand or when you arrive at the hotel.
:)

We also just booked with concierge when we arrived. I know its a lot of money, but its a special night and your boys will love it (Dad too;)) We've been twice now and my youngest DD loves all the banging and shouting.

We came away feeling quite full. The cornbread is lovely and I enjoyed the chilli and the apple crumble. Wasn't too keen on the main (bit greasy) but on the up side you can't actually see what your eating:lmao:

I've re-priced this now and it's £205 if pre-booked before we go.

We will probably do this and get the half board plus vouchers. We'll be travelling Eurostar so will have a full last day there, and can use all the vouchers up with a nice last meal - probably Walts.

I think the parks will close around 8pm (October) so had not wanted to miss out on park time before - but weather will be much cooler than summer so will be looking for something to do later on.

Getting quite excited already.......

Does anyone know how much I have to pay for the show on top of the HB+ vouchers, for both adult and child? Thanks :)

Main park usually closes at 7 pm (if I remember correctly) during the week and 10 pm at the weekends.

Yep, that sounds right - I remember watching Candleabration at park close just after 7pm in October Halloween season, it just wasn't the same as it wasn't even dark :rotfl:

Just checked my receipt ( I keep everything ) lol

2 adults @ 58 euros
2 kids @ 44 euros

Total 204 euros less HB+ voucher total , 2 adults & 2 kids = 76 euros, left us with 128 euros to pay.

Found the BB brochure
1st category sitting 70 euros adult 56 euros children

7pm closing is even better - I hate the thought of missing out on park time :lmao:

Going o/t now, do they still do Candleabration in October? I've never seen this. Can't wait for all that October has to offer.......
