We have always flown Southwest Buffalo to Florida. We also never have been in July.
Jet blue is $109 down and $114 back to Buffalo. Is that a good price for that airport and date?? Anyone know??

If you check these dates on Google Flights you'll see the historical prices for the dates.

We’re in Buffalo & fly JB or SW a few times a year. Which ticket option or it? The prices can get lower, but how flexible are your dates? I find JB prices can be lower 2-4 months out. Take a look at the current December - February flights. Some Blue Basic flights are as low as $69. But it can be only for very limited dates.

$109 & $114 aren’t bad for nonstops. But waiting *might* get better rates.
Personally, with blue basic, decide what you’re willing to pay & decide from there since you can’t make changes or cancel.

Keep in mind how pricing works on JetBlue.

Looking at a flight (not from BUF) it says:
Core Options from $244

But that doesn't mean your total cost will be $244.

If you click on it, you will see:

$244 for Blue Basic (free carry-on bag, no changes, fee to cancel, fee to select seats, last boarding groups so there might not be space in the overhead bin)

$269 for Blue (free carry-on bag, free seat selection, no fee to change/cancel)

$294 for Blue Extra (early boarding, expedited security if available, free change/cancel/same-day switches)

Even More $334 (extra legroom and a bundle of premium perks)

Free seat selection means they don't charge you to choose a seat, but all of the seats are not free. Some are, but others have an additional cost.

And there is a fee to check a bag.

Exactly! Blue Basic is their cheapest fare, but you cannot chose your seat in advance and you board last. And chances are your overhead bag will be checked (no charge) due to lack of space since boarding in the last group. I do it when I travel alone because I don't really care if I sit in a middle seat for 2.5 hours and would rather have the money to spend, but if I'm with others, I don't choose that fare. I've been lucky a few times and had the extra leg room seat assigned, but I've also been in a middle seat towards the back of the plane.
