We are booked at Caribe Royale but can save about $40 per night by switching to Buena Vista Suites PLUS get breakfast included. Not sure we'll have time to use the wonderful pool at the Caribe Royale anyway, or maybe the weather won't be good anyway. At any rate - we have others staying at the Caribe Royale villas so perhaps could use the pool anyway??? Has anyone stayed at either??? Thoughts??? On a 5 or 6 night stay, that's a pretty big savings.....

I've stayed at both. The Caribe is more of a resort. Great pool, spa, weight room, many food outlets, roomservice. In Disney speak I would say The Caribe is more like staying at a deluxe resort. Lake Buena Vista Suites is more like a value resort room. If your just looking to sleep and shower and want the room of a suite stay at LBS. If you want a resort type holiday stay at Caribe.

Thanks :)

I know we'd love the Caribe. But have added on extra days and tickets and it is nice to save some money. We won't be using the spa, gym, roomservice etc. and would love a free breakfast. The only thing we'll miss is the pool access... but with others in our group staying in a villa there, we may be able to use it anyway when visiting them ???? I suppose I'll have to phone and ask what the visitor policy is as that will be our deciding factor.

Buena Vista Suites (sister resort to Caribe Royale) has very nice, spacious suites - two queen beds in one room, separate sofa (pulls out to double bed if needed) in other room, both rooms have TV, it includes at least a fridge, maybe microwave too - can't quite remember. They're stylish too. I'd never say they are like a "value resort room," unless you're only used to staying at ultra-deluxe resorts maybe... This is much better than a typical Days in or a Quality Inn. And the complimentary hot breakfast buffet at BVS is among the best complimentary breakfasts we've ever gotten in a hotel. If the amenities of the more resort-like setting of the CR are not that important to you, I think you'd be perfectly happy saving the money on accommodations plus breakfasts each day and staying at BVS.

We stay at BVS a few times per year and we love it. The rooms are spacious and clean, and you canot beat the complimentary breakfast each morning! If saving money is important I say switch to BVS, and yeah Caribe is more upscale but if you aren't there to enjoy all of the extras anyway, I would jump ship and stay at BSV! You can certainly "visit friends" and use their pool area if you wanted, doubt anyone would say anything to you! Kindof like staying on property and visitng friends at another resort and using their pool. Not like you are walking in bathing suit and all, without knowing a guest at the resort!!!

Whatever your decision is, have a great trip ... you won't be sorry you stayed at BVS!!!

I did not see anything about transportation to the theme parks. Does anyone know if they offer complimentary transprtation to the parks?:grouphug:

I think I remember that BVS guests used to be able to walk up the hill to Caribe and use their (free) bus to the parks.

Love BVS!!!! We stay there almost every trip for a night or two before checking into our DVC resort. Great location, well appointed rooms, comfy beds. Nothing like a Value at all. The breakfast is very nice for a hotel....set up like a buffet in a dedicated room (very large and spacious). You aren't jammed into the corner of the lobby or anything like that.

Unless you really need the amenities of the Caribe I would save the money and stay at BVS. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Oh, and they do offer transportation to the parks but I don't know how often it runs. I also think you are allowed to use all the Caribe Royal amenities being that they are sister resorts.

Yes they are sister resorts so you can go and come freely to both hotels. We are staying at the Caribe in a few weeks and the cost is pretty cheap as well. We like the resort feel and is the main reason we chose it.
