I am looking for a suite for 2 nights while we go to SW. Wanted residence inn, but there rates are too high. I can get bvs or doubletree suites for $89, bvs has full breakfast, DT has continental breakfast but nicer pool. Both are about 5 1/2 miles from Sea World. We won't be spending much time at the hotel. Which would you choose?

I was also deciding between the same 2 places and went with bvs because it had great reviews from its recent renovation, great reviews on the full hot breakfast, and it has easy access without having to deal with the DTD traffic. I agree about the pool but we won't be there long and only using it to cool - not spend the day lounging around. Hope that helps... have you tried tripadvisor.com ?? Have fun either way !

We were faced with the same choice and just booked the Doubletree. My husband is big on parking the car and leaving it once we get there. It looks like the Downtown Disney buses are a little more regular than the BVS shuttle. Pool does look nice, and it sounds like they have also recently renovated. Either way, I think the extra space will be nice, and we're staying there 4 nights for about the same price as one night at the Beach Club! :woohoo:
Enjoy which ever place you choose!

Like Luna Lovegood we had been booked at the Beach Club and changed our reservation when the new Mousesavers rate came out to the Doubletree. We stayed there last May and didn't hesitate to book it again for this August. The rooms, pool, and breakfast are great, and the rate ($79 per night) cannot be beat. Have a great time! :happytv:

How did you get the $79 rate at double tree.. the lowest I found via mousesavers was $119.

thanks

I think we will go with BVS b/c of the full breakfast. It will be nice to eat right away and we will only be there 2 nights.

We are looking into the BVS also. I have stayed at the DT and had a few problems. The staff were very nice, however the room was filthy. Now, I have to say that this was back in 2003, and the room was very worn. If there has been a massive renovation than maybe things are better now. I would not stay there again unless everything was replaced...it was that bad.

The Doubletree has been renovated TWICE since you stayed there! All new furniture, carpets, drapes, etc.

We also just booked a room for one night at BVS between our WDW and Universal stays. We have never stayed there before....does anyone have any opinions on it???

It was definitely one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at in Orlando, and we've stayed at alot of different places. The room was immaculate; we never had a problem. We stayed last May 2008 and are staying again this August. :thumbsup2
