Buena Vista Suites - Gloomy?

Buena Vista Suites gets very good reviews I know, but does it have a business type feel to it? It looks very dark and sterile from the pictures. I am still trying to see if I can do a solo trip and am thinking of BVS or Comfort Inn gates east. They both have pros and cons but both seem good for the price. BVS seems to have a better shuttle service though. Also Comfort Inn has more restaurants and things around it. Any thoughts on those who have stayed at these hotels?

We stayed at Buena Vista Suites in March. They are not gloomy at all!! We were on the 5th floor looking out towards the front side of the hotel. The bedroom was very bright and sunny. It was a little darker in the front room (couch/TV area) but not gloomy.

They have an awesome breakfast buffet. The lobby area is very pretty. The staff was very friendly. My only "complaint" was that there is only one bathroom in the suite and the bedroom area is not very roomy, but it is still fine.

Thanks so much for the information! Everything else about the hotel looks great, I just was not so sure about the actual suites.

There is a restaurant in the hotel, and they gave us a discount card for a meal there. Also, there are other restaurants in their sister property next door - Caribe Royale. If you needed to take a cab to a restaurant - there is a Bahama Breeze, Lone Star, Carabbas, and a Golden Corral just down the street.

If you have any other specific questions let me know!
