Has anyone stayed there recently? We have a chance to go to a meeting in September and arrangements have been made at the Buena Vista Palace - no prices or other information available yet. Since we're already got our vacation planned to go to Orlando in October, we were wondering if we should go and try out a new place to stay. We always stay at OLCC, and will be in October...so what do you think? Barb

I was just scanning through the boards and noticed your question about the Buena Vista Palace from a few days back. I have stayed at the BVP several times in the last few months and in fact I will be staying there this weekend when I take my 6 year old grandson to Disney. Having always been a Disney Resort person, it was quite a change for me to try a non Disney Resort, but I have had very good experiences at BVP. The resort has recently been totally renovated and the rooms are all very modern and beautiful. There is a full service indoor spa and three pools outside. Contrary to some comments I have read on the Dis Boards, BVP does provide Disney Transportation to all the parks and since it is located right across the street from the Disney Marketplace, you can walk Downtown in the evening to unwind from the day.

They have a great restaurant called The Outback (no relation to the chain) that serves wonderful steak and seafood and the Watercress Cafe provides a character breakfast every Sunday with Mickey and his pals.

As I say, for someone who is steeped in Disney, it was quite a break for me to try a non Disney resort, but I have been very pleased with the Palace.

Oh my gosh, it's great that you repiled to this. I've tried several times to get a response about recent stays at BVP with no results.
If you took any pictures I know (I'd) LOVE to see the rooms lobby etc.
We are going in December and have never stayed there and hope I'll be very pleased with this decision.
Thanks again:goodvibes hope to see you all in December,:grouphug:

travelzoo has them listed as $99 per night. i'm thinking about changing my sheraton safari ($79) to buena vista palace. i can't decide. my daughter wants to stay at the doubletree castle hotel but they are getting $139.

Thanks so much for the 'tip'......I just got the $99.00 rate with free breakfast from travelzoo for our upcoming trip in July!!!!! Looks like a really nice place. The 'Unofficial Guide' book seems to highly recommend it:cool1: I guess we'll just wait and see.....:rolleyes1

i just booked this for saturday may 5. total $125 including free breakfast. that night we're going to disney quest and DTD for dinner and then moving to SSR the next morning. all close by. i was going to stay at sheraton safari for $88. this place is $37 more. okay i think i convinced myself anyway!

also this place just had a 40 million dollar makeover. ok now i'm convinced. i think.
