In case anyone is interested we stayed at the Buena Vista Palace and Spa for one night before checking in at BC. We arrived there around 3:30 and check in was a breeze. We had a Disney view room and got a AAA rate of $138. The room was fine - clean and spacious. The kids checked out the pool and liked it too. We walked across the stree to DTD for dinner at RFC so we didn't try any of the restaurants there.

It was a very nice hotel. We like the Disney themed resorts much better but if that doesn't matter to you, or if you are looking for a place to stay the night before you check in at Disney, I would definitely recommend it.

The only thing I would do differently is I wouldn't pay extra for the Disney view. We had a view of the EPCOT Ball and Illuminations but most of the time the view was just of traffic.

HTH someone!

Staying here one night before checking into RPR and BLT for two weeks. We also booked a Disney view room at the AAA rate for $108/night. How was your room? We will have 4 people and was wondering what the space was like.

The room was fine for 4 people. We had 5 (3 kids) and it was plenty big enough. That was the reason we booked there instead of a Disney moderate. Even for one night I need a little room. We also stayed the one night before we checked into BC for two weeks. We were able to walk over to DTD and then get a good night's rest before checking into BC in time for breakfast in the CL!

I am thinking about doing the same thing as our flight gets in late-ish. We start our 8-night BC trip the next day.

Was there a free shuttle to the BVP from the airport? How easy was it to get over to DTD with your kids and luggage to catch a bus over the BC the next morning? I am a little worried about herding 2 kids, 4 suitcases and 4 carry-ons, but I think it would be more fun to stay at the BVP near DTD than book into a value resort for the night (and cheaper!)

Thanks,
Becky

Actually we drove so we left the majority of the luggage in the car. We just had a small bagged packed for the one night and left early the next am.

If you are flying I would suggest booking one of the value or mods Disney resort for one night. That way you could get the free magical express and they will transport you luggage for you!
