Budget Wedding? [No Flames Please]

I think she's talking about Swan or Hyatt weddings, which are technically on Disney property, though not Disney's Fairytale Weddings.

I think she's talking out of her a-s-s....

A simple google search brings up the website mentioned:

http://www.orlandodreamweddings.com/index.htm

It does specificially mention theme parks and shows the Disney Wedding Pavilion. Now what they can arrange with Disney is something that would have to be explored and approached with caution. Not sure that Disney acually works with outside vendors.

I don't think there is any way to have a Disney wedding with out going through Disney.... the above mentioned company probably just acts as a 'middleman' between you and Disney. Seems to me it would cost MORE money that way as you would have to pay for the additional companies services and it could potentially cause problems with miscommunication.

Wedding Ceremony Assumptions
. . . the ceremony is just a normal ceremony (not long and drawn out)
. . . there are not a lot of guests (maybe 4-6, besides bride and groom)
. . . you don't mind doing it in a pleasant resort setting

1) A non-Disney-Planner wedding is doable.
2) Not supposed to be, but still quite easy.
3) Process
. . . hire a local officiant (minister or Justice of the Peace)
. . . have your Best Man pick up the officiant, just to make things easier
. . . agree to a scenic wedding location
. . . go through the guard shack and announce the next cars are for the wedding
. . . go to the pre-scouted and pre-arranged location
. . . get married
4) Possible scenic locations
. . . a resort pool area
. . . Fort Wilderness
. . . balcony of a Deluxe resort (eg. Poly, GF, WL) with a great view
. . . somewhere on the grounds of a resort (eg. Deluxe, POFQ, POR)

NOTE: Yes, this isn't supposed to happen, but there are so many weddings in such places, that no CM will ever challenge you. In fact, many will offer congratulations as you pass by. Plus, since it is so frequent, the guards will not challenge you at the resort entrance - as long as they see the wedding dress and you tell them the next 1-2-or-3 cars are with you.

Sorry Rusty you are wrong. Disney knows of the weddings that happen that they are apart of planning. They will stop people that are having weddings on property if its not through them, especially if it is at a resort like the pool area or grounds as they have Disney Fairy Tale Weddings for a reason.

::yes::

Disney is VERY PROTECTIVE of the on-site weddings.

Trying to "go around the system" could result in your being asked to leave the property. What a wonderful wedding memory that would be (NOT!).

I'm pretty sure you would not have many officiants who would risk their "association" with Disney to do something so obviously against Disney rules.

There are more cost effective options that have already been mentioned here.

there is NO WAY you can "sneak" a wedding at a pool. even a small pool. i was a lifeguard at the bw during my cp and i tell you that this is impossible.

i have contacted that orlando dream weddings-hey, if they can save me some money...we'll see what they say tomorrow.
