Once upon a time we had a new subscriber rate for $99/year. When our subscription ran out this summer, I think they wanted $225/year. That's not happening!

Does anyone know of any good prices? I'm missing a daily paper with plenty of business news.

i think if u have airline miles, u can usually get them for 13 weeks at a time thru their link

I was able to use DD's airline miles to subscribe... nice paper and DD4 would've never had enough miles for an airline ticket.

yes, thats the best way to use up all those small amounts of miles.

i tried posting some links to specific airline miles programs but since i don't have enough posts, it won't allow me to.

but just go to each airline's program and choose to redeem your miles and they should have that as a choice.

You can get free pod-casts of the WSJ. There are about a half dozen different columns or sections that are available at WSJ.com
That way you can listen to some of it on your way to work!

The Markets Data section of WSJ.com is available FREE online. This contains alot of the stocks, currency and treasury data contained in the tables and charts in the C Section (Money and Investing) plus alot of other tables and data sets that they don't print. There's alot of free data available on there in addition to what you get from the print edition.

I don't do much active investing so I don't typically need the day-to-day data. My investing style is more of a year or 6 month evaluation method so all the articles are what interest me. I build up a big mental database of worldwide news, synthesize it and make decisions based on that.

I will look into the airline miles. I don't think I'll ever be able to accumulate enough Southwest miles to fly for free, so that's a place to look. We actually have used our US Airways and American miles, so I'll keep those as miles. Southwest is possible though.
