budget vacuum cleaner

I have a niece and nephew both graduating from college soon
I would like to buy each of them a vacuum cleaner for their new digs. Many of their furnishings will be from thrift stores and garage sales but I personally think a vacuum should be new. (You never know what its vacuumed up and on, eww)
So can you recomment something sturdy but not too pricey? I would like to spend between $75-$100 for each, if thats possible? Thanks.

My daughter is away at college and has a dog and cat. I bought her this one. I loved how it worked so much that I threw out my big one and I have one now. Its lightweight and it works, and its inexpensive!
