Budget Snacks to replace the candy bowl at work?

I buy them on sale, so pretty much, when I see them $8/lb or less on sale in any grocery (Safeway, Wegman's, or Aldis)...it's been a little while, since I got a huge stash of Christmas nuts on a ridiculous sale, so we've been eating those the last 2 months...

I also love salted peanuts in the shell, but for me the negatives would outweigh the positives. First of all, they are really messy. Secondly, some co-workers or visitors may have allergies.

Agreed, really messy, even if one is mindful about trying to clean up after themselves, and we know in an office environment that's not everyone. Plus, I think I'd want to pull my hair out if I had to listen to coworkers cracking shells open all day.
