Budget site for Book Lovers

I know the library is the ultimate budget activity for the book lover. However for those who do not have the time or easy access to a library try a website called www.booksfree.com.

Netflix for books. I have been using it for about a year. I have been pretty happy with it. $23.00 per month and I can have 6 books out at a time.

I download ebooks from the free library of philadelphia. You dont even need to live in philly to get a library card from them. If you live in pa and have a library card from an access pa participating library then you can get a card for the flp as well. Once you have your card you can reserve and take out digital media to read on your computer or some ereaders. I think that new york and new jersey might have similar programs. There are probably other state programs as well.

I love paperbackswap.com you pay postage but other than that it is free to swap as many books as you would like.

I have been using it for 3 years and LOVE it.

Do you read a certain type of genre or specialty books that would make one of the more common avenues like the book swapping sites or the low cost digital readers impractical?

I read pretty much everything but I can and have spent $400 in one month on books because I read pretty fast. I don't have the time to list books and stuff on a swap website or mail other books out.

$276 isn't really a lot in the scheme of things for me. The convenience of going online, choosing the books and having them coming to my house makes it worthwhile.

I don't clutter my house with extra books and can supplement my Kindle books with this. The Kindle is great for my travel schedule but books can add up on Amazon for new books. I use this for when I am home and the Kindle for when I travel.
