We are going to Orlando in June. This is kind of a spur of the moment trip and we are doing Sea World, Aquatica and using one day tickets that we had left from a package we bought last August to get free dining. The day tickets have never been activated and will expire in August so that will be our one big surprise for the kids...one day in Magic Kingdom. We will be going back in October for a total Disney trip. The hotel we are staying at has a breakfast buffet and our room has a small kitchen. Just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for good, family-friendly, budget restaurants in the Orlando area. We have always stayed on property at Disney and done the dining plan, so we will be new to the Orlando area and this will be the first time we've had a car with us. Also, it will be my youngest son's birthday on our trip as well and I was hoping to order a cake and surprise him, too. So if you know of a good bakery that would be great, too. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Dont know about restaruants, but Publix has the best cakes ever. The whole bakery is good. Key Lime Pie is amazing!!!!

We enjoy the Orlando Ale House and Ci Ci's. Reasonably priced. Then you have your Uno's, TGI Friday's, Chili's, Cracker Barrel, etc.

We like Unos, Fuddruckers, Sweet Tomatoes, Flippers Pizza, Olive Garden, Golden Corral. That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now.

We will 2nd the Orlando Ale house - we found it on our last night this past month. Great drink specials too!

We always go to Miller's Orlando Ale House and Cracker Barrel. This trip we want to try Sweet Tomatoes and maybe CiCi's.

Just ate at the Orlando Ale House. They have a Prime Rib special I think every Tuesday and Thursday, it was either $10 or $11.

Also---since they have a million TV's you can catch any game you are interested in watching, all you have to do is ask.

Restuarant.com has $25 gift certificates for $2 on sale - the code is MEAL. just put in Orlando zip and search

We also like Sweet Tomatoes, the Earl of Sandwich is also good.
I also saw a Panera Bread close to lake Buena Vista.

Orlando Ale House. My family of 5 (all adult eaters) ate dinner for $75, including tip. DH also had 2 beers. The previous day we had eaten in The Land & spent $60 for 4 people.

Extensive menu & very reasonable prices. We go about 3 or 4 times every trip.

Perkins at The Crossroads by WDW is pretty decent. Probably pretty standard coffee shop fare, but a larger selection. Prices were decent, although not really "cheap"--certainly less expensive that onsite at WDW!

Can't help with the bakery. We only pick up some rolls or bread at Publix.
