Wanting to make sure I have enough money for our trip. We are taking an extended family vacation consisting of my family (5 total), my mom and dad, and my sister and her family (4 of them)at WDW in less than 45 days and I have been budgeting our money since before Christmas for this vacation. We are staying offsite in a house (11 of us total going) which is already paid for. As far as my family there are 5 of us....dh, me, and 3 ds ages 8, 5, and 14 months. We will be staying for 7 days two of which will be travel days ( driving down from Virginia). This is what I have budgeted so please if I have under budgeted or forgot something please let me know. Also if you see a way to save money let me know that too.

Gas for the whole trip $200
Groceries when we arrive $100 (groceries are being divided by 3)
Souveniers $150
Character lunch MK $ 70
Dinner at Mk
(Cosmic Rays or Columbia
Harbour House) $25
Lunch at Epcot
(Electric Umbrella) $25
Hotel on the way $70
Fast Food for trip $50
Lunch at SeaWorld $30
Tickets for WDW
(2 one day passes
for 2 adults 2 children) $400
Parking fees $20

Total $ 1140

We will only be visiting MK one day Epcot one day and Sea World one day (already purchased those tickets) and the rest of the time visiting shops and hanging out at the private pool at the house relaxing. Also will be staying in a hotel on the way down but not on the way home. Thanks for looking at my budget and helping. You guys are great.

Looks good, I assume you plan on eating quite a bit in your room. If you are short anywhere it would be on food in the parks. I see only $25 for your second day. What about dinner? And $25 for five people, or four really if your youngest will not be eating park food is a bit tight.
Also you may be able to do better on your hotel for the drive up. Try Priceline if you know what area you need to be in.
Sounds like a fun trip.

Sounds okay, but I would add more on Gas. Prices are crazy. I would get at least $100 in disney dollars because your little ones will want some over prices, soon to be in the dollar store toy. If you want to pre-buy those over priced toys, visit your local walmart and buy those glow in the dark things or a dollar store.

And if you plan to buy some things at those shops you plan to visit, I would budget in a few more hundred bucks for that.

Yes, we are eating alot at the house. Breakfast every morning will be eaten there and the day at Epcot and Sea World we will be going back to the house for rest time and eating dinner there also. The day at MK we will be eating lunch and dinner in the park. The stores we will be visiting we will be buying souvenirs and that is listed in the $150. I have already purchased the glow sticks and autograph books and pens and the kids will have some spending money from grandparents and birthday money to buy some stuff in the parks. Thanks for all your input and keep it coming because it really helps. :D

Looks good to me, although I'm not sure you've left enough for your counter service meals. It's been a LONG time since I've been to WDW, but you might want to check out the menus and prices for the counter service places on allearsnet.com (if you haven't already) and make sure you've allowed enough. It will vary by family, I'm sure.

Enjoy your trip!

Steph

for your character meals - be aware than more than 8 or 10 in your party - your bill will automatic give the waitress a 15% tip.

so make sure you have included that in your budget. okay I look again - you have included it....

you need to make your PS to any and all character meals before arriving at a park.

the parking fee at both SW and WDW is $7 a day for off-site guest. so that is $35 instead of $20.

if you have a house and you run out of money - you can just stay at your house - it has a pool - so your kids will be happy.

The only things that I thought was that Cosmic Rays seemed a little low, but perhaps you checked out the menus like another poster suggested. And I did not see a line for the water (or drinks/ ice creams/ other last minute item that always comes up with kids). But perhaps you have that covered with your grocery items/ brita water bottle. Good job, and have lots of fun!!:teeth:
