Hello again!

My boyfriend and I will be going to WDW November 3-November 8 (can't wait!!!). I am wondering how much $$ I should budget for lunch and snacks each day?

We are on the Discovery Magic Package, so we will be using our wishes for dinners and the Cirque du Soleil. We are staying at the AKL Concierge, so we plan on eating breakfast in the hotel.

We are not really interested in full sit-down meals for lunch; just a nice bite to eat (i.e., maybe somewhere like Aunt Polly's Dockside Inn or Mara at the AKL). What's your opinion?

Thanks! :)

If you're only doing counter service, you could probably do it on about $15 (certainly less than $20) per meal for the two of you.

Have you looked at the menus on wdwig.com (sorry...I don't know how to post a link ;) ). We like to use them to get an idea of how much to budget for food.

Hope this helps!

You will get answers from $50 for a family of 6 (low end, no, very, very, very low end) to $200 per day per couple. We tend to budget about $100 per day (just the two of us) for food and souvies. We will eat 3-5 nice dinners requiring PS. The rest of the time we will eat counter service, off-site (we are staying off-site) or eat b-fast in our room (dh is not a b-fast eater, but I have to have something or by 11am, I am a real witch...... with a capital B. LOL.)

In truth, you can spend a fortune, or you can be quite frugal. I suggest you go to www.wdwig.com and check out the menus there, If you have a general idea of where you want to eat you can budget accordingly.

Thirty dollars a day for counter service lunches should be more than enough. Here's a link for the menus www.wdwig.com

Thanks for all of the responses! And, thanks to the moderator who moved my post to a more appropriate board! :)

I'd love to hear from others, too! :)

Hi there,
Just thought I should mention that Aunt Polly's is usually open seasonally-so it may not be operating when you are there.

Oh, epcotfan! I'm sad to hear this. I was hoping we would be able to grab a quick bite to eat here and watch the little ones run around. Oh well, I guess this will just be another reason that I'll have to go back. ;)

Thanks for the information!

Great answer, Tonilea! (of course I mean about the variety of price ranges, not the *witch* part ;) )

One other thing that I'd point out about the counter service, is that most everything is on the menu as a combo meal...such as "burger & fries" or "chicken finger & fries". However, you can order a burger separately, and share the fries if you choose, or even simply order the sandwich without any other sides....they don't post all your TRUE options on the menu. (It's so much quicker for the CM's to serve the food if your options appear to be limited! )

There was a great thread on this whole subject....if I can find it I'll bump it up for you!

I found what I was looking for and bumped it up for you...it's title is "Cheap Counter Service at Magic Kingdom".....it should give you some good ideas on how to cut the price while still having meals that are more than sufficient!

We did $50 a day for an entire family of four.. but our breakfast was included at the hotel.

We averaged around $40.00 per adult per day on our last trip (we were there for 10 day and 9 nights). We used a combination of connections vouchers and cash. We had breakfast, 1 sit down meal and one counter service meal per day...
(I had planned on $60.00 per day per adult, so I was really happy.)

-DC :)

Thanks to everyone for the great responses! Since our breakfasts are included in the hotel price and dinner is included with the Discovery Magic Package, I think I'll budget $50.00 per day for lunch and snacks. I hoping this is more than enough, so maybe I'll have some extra spending money! (Or, my boyfriend would say, "Maybe we can come home with some cash" - this doesn't sound nearly as fun. ;) )

Thanks again!
