Budget price increased when confirming

I reserved a Ford Edge for Sunday am to Friday am. The price displayed $309 including fees & taxes. After I clicked the rent it button, the price changed to $342. I sent an email & a couple days ago but never received a response. I will call to follow up. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think you should have cancelled it immediately and perhaps tried it again.

It is possible that the last $309. car was booked by someone else while you were still typing so when you finally clicked the "rent" button you got the next rate, $342.

Also try clearing your browser cache.

It's known that certain travel sites will increase their prices the more often you connect to it.

Yes, the price usually goes up closer to the big day as their availability is scarcer.

I'm pretty sure Budget is one of those sites that shows the price before all the taxes and fees and then you don't see that until you go to the next page to confirm....maybe that was it?

I did cancel and try to rebook & the same thing happened. At the bottom of the screen (just before confirming to rent) I clicked the summary & it gave me the fees & taxes, rental cost. Total was $309. Interesting I have checked with Alamo & National and they are in the $600 range for the same car (Ford Edge).

Are you using a $$ off discount code?
Sometimes Budget/Avis will require you to present the coupon at check-in before they will give the discount off your rental even though it was entered online.
