We want to rent a car to get back to Orlando from the cruise ship. I was going to rent through Avis and take the shuttle to the Radisson, but read on this board that there can be long line ups. Has anyone rented with Budget? How do you get to their office? They are quite a bit cheaper than Avis as well. Thanks:)

We had no lines with Avis at all. Infact I was SO impressed with them. I forgot my camcorder on the shuttle and the wonderful Disney counter lady called them for me and they brought it right back for me. That is a very honest company-the camcorder was very expensive as well as my camera which was also in the case!

I too would recommend Avis. Quick and easy to get to, and the rates are pretty good to0. Check out Dave's site as he has info about different rental companys.

We were thrilled with Avis. We didn't rush off the ship but were in the first wave to get off. We even had to stop and re-dress our youngest DD once we got outside and found how cold it was. We were able to board an Avis shuttle as soon as we made it out to the "tent" in the parking lot. If you dawdle and delay getting off the ship, I imagine this is when you might have to wait in line for the shuttle. The shuttle runs continuously back and forth so even if you have to wait for one or two loops, it is not a bad wait.

Sorry, I've never used Budget and so can't comment on their service.

Dave's site also gives good marks for Budget. Their drop-off is just down the street from Avis, and they also have a shuttle that goes to the port - besides being a lot less expensive than Avis. We'll be using Budget on the 15-Mar cruise.

We rented from Avis before our cruise (because we stayed at the Radisson) and from Budget after the cruise (because it was cheaper!). We had no wait for the Budget shuttle and were the only ones on it.

Thanks Kim,

That's exactly what I was planning to do! I'll spend those extra dollars aboard the ship.;)

Upon returning to MCO, is there a "reasonably priced" gas station close to the airport? I don't want to pay Avis, Budget, etc an extreme amount for a gallon of gas. Where do others stop for a fill up?

There's a 7-Eleven that sells gas at the last exit before the airport. That's the Narcoosee Rd exit (Exit 13).
