Hi! We're giving my soon to be 6 year old son a lego star wars party, and I'm looking for ideas for party favors that won't blow the budget. I've seen small lego packs around Christmas time for a mini-figure that was around $2-3, but I can't find any now, even online. The cheapest I can find is $6. Amazon has regular Lego favors that average out to $2.50 each, but I wanted to first see if there was anything similar in the star wars theme.

We're going to WDW in a week, so I was wondering if anyone has recently been to the Lego store there and saw something that may be a cute, affordable favor? The only problem is that we are having the party the day after our return home, so if we don't find anything there, then it'll be too late to order any of the other favors I've found online... which are not impressive, a cup, stickers...

If you have any other ideas to go with this theme, I would love to hear them! Thanks!!!!!

The only other idea I could think of is the candy legos blocks you can get them at any candy store that's sells bulk candy they are cute and you can really build with them.

Target had some in the halloween section but I did not notice how much they where. I do not recall what theme they where.

Target's mini Star Wars sets (mentioned by PP) are $3.99.
If you go to legoshop.com they have some keychains for $2.50.

Do you have a Five bBelow near you? They have small Lego sets sometimes; not sure if they are Star Wars though. Or maybe you can find some mini figures?

A few weeks back the legostore in DL had 3 packs of lego magnets (a figure that comes with a base that has a magnet) for prince of persia, and a couple of other things for 2.50 to 3.50. They had a build your own fig where you could make 3 figs for $9. They also had lego buckets that you could fill for a set price.

You could do something similar and purchase a lot of mixed legos there or maybe off of ebay then get containers or small clear pails and fill them with an assortment of legos. You could take it farther and make up and print cards that are similar to the lego creationary game and stick them in each tub.

Just returned a couple of weeks back from WDW and made a trip down to the lego store... they did have party favor bags.. I must have spent an hour circling that store looking for a present for my neice. Not sure how much they were ( maybe $2.50 ) but remember that area was sooo congested with kiddos.
Maybe give them a call> Phone: (407) 828-0065
Good luck!!:goodvibes

If you are doing goody bags with a variety of items in them, you could do the Lego brick candy that can be found in the bulk candy sections of candy and grocery stores. It also would be find to put in various bricks.. I don't think that you have to put in minifigs. However, my Toys R Us has a display with the single minifig packs that you mentioned at the customer service desk. Your local Toys R Us might have one there too.

I was just at our local JC Penny's and they had Star Wars lego t-shirts on sale for 2.97! They had a lot and little boys are generally pretty easy to fit!

Wow, thanks so much for all of the great ideas! I never thought about half of these. We just had a Toys R Us open this week about 45 min from us and there's a Target near it, so I can hit them both and see if I can find them... no 5 and below though:guilty: If I see something cuter/cheaper in WDW, then I can just return what I bought here at the store, so no loss. And I won't be stressing the night before the party. I would love to find one thing to give out rather than the goody bags, which add up in cost, but if I can't find the mystery bags or mini figs here, then I'll look for the candy blocks.... I've seen them online, but not in the stores.

I'll also check out JC Penny and see what they have here for the shirts, that is an amazing deal! I'll stock up on those if they have them, practically every boy on my Christmas list is obsessed with Legos.

Thanks so much Mrs D for the cupcake topper ideas, I've been thinking about the cake, and cupcakes with these toppers will be so cute and easy instead. And I can make the cupcakes myself, so very affordable!

Thanks again everyone!!

The minifig packs are really cute and fun because the kid's won't know what they are getting so it adds to the excitement.

We did a Lego party last year and it turned out really well. For the cake I did several loaf pans, two reg size, and a pan of mini loaves. Then toothpicked marshmallows cut in half onto them like the bumps on Legos and covered them in fondant.

For a pinata, I took a box, covered it with poster paper of green and blue and then glued a lego sign to it in yellow and red which I found on Google and just enlarged.

Our games were guess how many legos in a jar and one dropping legos into a jar from a chair. (We used to play it with clothespins if that helps you know what I mean.) Other than that the boys just played with Legos and then we watched some Lego movie or another we had gotten from Netflix. Maybe a Lego Star Wars one? Sorry, I don't recall.

I made Lego keychains out of the 4x4 square blocks. Just take a heated nail and push it thru the corner and out the other side and attach keychain parts(JoAnn in the jewelry making section).

I also got small notebooks and added Lego stickers and gave them with minifig pens. I took small pens and superglued heads with hair and hats on the end.

I put everything in yellow takeout boxes(Walmart) with minifig faces drawn on with a Sharpie.

Not sure if they have the minifig parts at DTD, but you can order them from Pick A Brick at Lego.com. If I hadn't found the party packs on clearance I was going to buy a bunch of parts and let them build their own mininfigs.

I read this thread earlier today and went to Toys R us tonight to do some pre-Christmas shopping (my daughter is 6 months so no lists for me). The toysrus near me in Aurora, IL had party sets on clearance. They included 8 little things for kids to build and I think they were $12 or $13 with another 25% off. I don't know if your store will have them.

My store had tons of clearance, the employee said they are getting ready to set for Christmas so they have to get rid of a bunch of stuff first.

If you can't find the mini packs at Target in Halloween section or toys section, look at the checkout lanes on the very bottom shelf they typically have the little bags with a figurine.. I think it was a Star Wars theme last time I looked a few weeks ago. I keep an eye on things in the checkout lanes as they DO go on clearance sometimes, got Xbox point cards for 50% off one year. :goodvibes

An easy and cheap version, check your local thrift stores for Lego. My local chain has baggies of Lego bricks for sale at reasonable price. Wash them, bleach soak, bag them in cute favor bags. You can have games to create something in x minutes with just x number of blocks. They can make up a story about what they made. Cute photo and scrapbooking opportunity!

I'm doing the same party as well. I bought the silicone lego mini-figure ice cube trays last time I was in a lego store so I could make crayons, chocolates or jello. I've never seen star wars mini-figs sold as the mystery figures. I would buy those up, if so. I'll have to check JC Penney's for the Tees, that's awesome! I think thrift stores would depend on your area. I always hear of people getting awesome deals at their local thrift but that would NEVER happen here. If Legos or American Girl stuff was donated it would never make it to the shelf as I'm sure the workers would snatch it up. Good Luck. Please post if you come across some awesome finds.

Thank you for starting this thread. My son wants a Lego party in March when he turns 7. I'm getting some good ideas now. Thanks!!

Thanks so much for all of the ideas! Our Toys R Us just had a grand opening this week, so no clearance items. But I did find the party packs online for around $13 at Toys R Us.... they're not star wars, but for that price for 8 mini-sets, the kids will deal with it! I just added another toy that I was going to get him for his gift to get the free shipping, so it works out to be a really good deal!!

I also went to JC Penny... ours was kind of picked over, but I did get a few of the Lego t-shirts on clearance, thanks so much for that tip! I got a few for Christmas and a few for our Legoland trip in November... they don't know about that yet, so I figured we could give them the shirts the morning we're going to surprise them! Can you tell our kids are Lego obsessed:sad2:

Lucky you! I also went to Penneys today but not one t-shirt to be had. There was really no clearance at all for the boys section. Bummed.
