Need some help!! We are currently booked at the WL for 9/18 to 9/25. Me and my DH. The problem is that today we just bought a used RV....not willing to drive it to FL...too far if we have a problem.

Can't afford WL but our air tickets are bought and paid for (and non-refundable) and I have $500 in Disney Dollars so far! What hotels - onsite or off would you guys recomend so that we can save $$. I already have some Q & C vouchers bought and paid for also as well as some VKL vouchers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Michelle

The value resorts will save you a good bit, but I would hold out and hope for codes... you could try reading the Pop Century thread on the resort board to see what you think about staying there.

You can book now and if codes come out call and have them redo the rate. I am already booked at Pop for 2005 praying codes come out

I booked Pop Century for September with a AAA discount for $59/night. I couldn't get the AAA discount over the internet, I had to do it by reserving over the phone. They asked for my AAA number and said I needed to show my card when I got there.

Not a bad price for 'on site', and get to use the WDW buses. We stayed at PC in December (right after it opened) and really liked it. From teh 50's building you could see the fireworks from Epcot. They also have some cute food in the food court (we liked the tye-dyed cheesecake).

Just wanted to add that the only time I have seen a lower price than this for the value resorts has been with the AP rates. We don't have APs, so we wouldn't be able to get that rate (at Christmas they had $49/night at PC for AP holders). I think the $59 AAA rate in September is pretty good, BUT there might always be something better comer along.

If money is really tight, you could always try a "ready set go" auction on SkyAuction if you are willing to stay offsite. Great deals for under $300 for a week for 1 or 2 bedroom villas. Just check out the resorts reviews ahead of time.

We've been very lucky with them and have stayed at beautiful places really close to Disney.

Happy Planning!!

I would stay at the value resorts. They are nice, not as great as the moderates or deluxes but I would say it is comparable to a Holiday Inn, except with nice Disney theming. I have heard that the pools arent't as great but since I have never stayed anywhere else, I would say that the pools are good. Personally, for me and my family, we just can't see spending over $100 a night for a room, I would love to go to the Contemporary or Polynesian, or definitley the Grand Floridian, but unless someone else is paying, I doubt we ever will. We are rarely in the room except to sleep and with the value resorts, you are on property and can use Disney transportation, so why not stay there?? We have stayed in all of the Values, except the new POP century. They are all about the same except themed differently, Movies has large statues of some popular movies, music has themed areas based on music types like jazz, calypso etc. and sports is themed after all the different sports. The only thing about all of these hotels is they are often crowded, we had a lot of people in our resort on school trips, outings, music, cheerleading you get the picture, but they can save you some big bucks while keeping you in disney property and in the magic. Have fun hope this helps.

I would stay at a Value - I have stayed at both Pop Century and All-Star Music, and was pleased with both. The rooms at All-Star Music were a little bigger, but Pop Century was so much more fun!

As an aside - does anyone know what the AP discount is from year to year? I am planning to go twice in 2005 and want to know if it will beat my AAA discount (I am planning April and December).
