Budget Going Away Gift

I need some help picking out a going away gift that won't break the bank. It is for a teacher I work with. There are only a handful of adults in our dept so we all got to be pretty good work friends...although we do not socialize outside of work. Her DH has been transfered and she is leaving the state. I would love to give her a gift that will be nice but also can be taken with her (they are leaving the day after school lets out and driving cross country)

Do you know where they are headed? One fun idea would be to search Yelp and compile a list of highly-recommended restaurants along w/ a gift card to one of them.

Another idea is to make a cd of road-trip music and present it with a few road trip necessities (maps, gum, trail mix, tissue packs, etc).

If they are going to NOLA, your job is easy. The Big Easy.

We moved from Montana to Louisiana in 1996. We really miss Montana.

Couple of tips - beignets from Cafe du Monde, crawfish etouffee from almost anywhere (it's good stuff), Mother's on Poydras is very good - looks like a dive, but the food is excellent and you'll wait in line to place your order.

I would buy her a New Orleans travel guide and one of those laminated city maps.

I attended a wedding last summer and my gift was a Chicago for Locals guide, a laminated map, and heated ear muffs! This was for a couple that was moving from Vancouver to Chicago.
