We have a wonderful sitter who watches my kids daily from 8-12. We love her and Tuesday will be the last day to ever watch them.

What do you suggest as a gift for her? She is a mom of a two year old. :confused3

If you love your sitter so much, I personally would not be worried about budget. I would just go and get her a really nice gift one that reflects how much you appreciated her services.

As a childcare provider, I love giftcards along with a heartfelt note.

I am a nanny and some of the more meaningful gifts I have gotten have been.
A scrapbook with pictures of the kids and drawings by them.
A really nice framed photo of my Munchkins.
A Cozy Blanket that I love and a gift card to my very favorite resturant.
A set of Mugs hand painted by the kids.

Do you have time to put together a basket? A gift basket for a night in might be nice: blanket, popcorn, Blockbuster gift card, bubble bath, easy listening music, etc.

Maybe a little figurine? I don't collect anything, but there's probably an appropriate Hallmark one for a caregiver? Something that she'll think of your child when she sees it, but not necessarily a framed picture for her mantel.

A little picture of your child would be nice for a Christmas ornament, though, if you want to make one.

I appreciate gift cards for birthdays and holidays, but this is a little different occasion. Best wishes.

I would give her a framed photo of your kids, perhaps one with her child in it, and cash. I'd give her $100, or more if you can afford it.

Just a suggestion, if you do the photo option, have the kids decorate the frames for her.

At the very most, have the kids make her a card. It's such a special touch. :goodvibes

My favorite thing to recieve is a note that tells me how much Iam appreciated. Every child that I care for touches my heart forever, but to be told that I did a great job means the world to me. I do take my own photos, but it is nice when a parent includes one of her own for me. I have also recieved gift cards to resteraunts that we use as a family. I also have a very generous family that gives me a monetary bonus at the end of the school year, very much appreciated, I usually deposit it to pay bills. If she is anything like me, it is very difficult to tell a child goodbye on the last day.
Whatever you decide will be right.

don't you wish you could get something and not have to think about money? I want to give mine a nook so bad, she's that awesome

I do daycare and I too love gift cards/certificates. I have friends that have received a nice tree in honor of a child, etc. I would stay away from knick knack stuff unless you are sure she would love it.

Please, no candles, bath and body lotions etc.

These are just my thoughts.

Well. . .since she's the mom of a toddler. . .I would get her something that she probably wouldn't do for herself. . .a massage. . .a mani-pedi. . .something to make her feel special. I would also have the kids make her a heartfelt card and include pics of the kids.

Thanks all. Thinking about doing the restaurant gift card or the massage/mani-pedi. She told me today that she wants them on each of our school breaks! Love this girl I tell ya.

I agree. Perhaps cash or a nice gift card.

I babysat for a family with four kids for two years. When I moved I got cards decorated by the kids, a framed picture of me with the kids plus $250. I moved a year ago and I still get Hanukkah presents from them which this past year was cards, a gift from the synagogue Hanukkah boutique plus $100. I appreciate the cards and the picture the most.
