I need a couple of budget minded gifts for my husband. I have already bought him a couple of larger gifts, but I need a couple that are in the $10 range. I get tired of giving him the same old thing.:confused3 Looking for some fresh ideas! Bring them on......

Hobbies?

My DH is a huge James Bond Fan, I was able to get some new and used (he doesn't care-as long as they work) titles for super cheap online. If there is a movie or TV series he likes that might work??? I also got him some music CD's he likes to listen to in the car and they were each under $10.

My husband LOVES cookies - I made him a coupon book, so that any time he wanted homemade cookies during the year, he could tear out a coupon. I did ask for 1 week's notice so I could buy supplies and plan the time to bake. I think I included 10 coupons and each one had a different cookie on it - all of his favorites.

He loved it - it didn't cost much - and he enjoyed it all year long. I don't bake too often (cuz then I like to eat it!), so this was perfect.

I buy DH a t-shirt from his college sports team each year. He wears it so much during the year that it is worn out by Christmas!

Since we became DVC members, all my DH and I do for each other are small gifts, so we've gotten rather good at it! The easiest is lottery tickets.

I usually do a few "Disney" ones as well. I buy him the bags of Ghirardelli candy squares. I try to write down the name of a wine we enjoy at Food and Wine or a lounge while at Disney and pick up a bottle. (more often than not, they're under $15) I have put $10 in a card and wrote a note that it's to pay for his snack while we watch Illuminations or whatever.

Sometimes you can find movies at WalMart in the bargain bin too!

Lottery tix are a big hit in our house ! We buy them for stockings and all can't wait to get to them!

Does he like to relax with a drink? How about a 6-pack of craft beer or a bottle of wine? maybe add a cute note to it about promises of a romantic evening or something :goodvibes

Gloves
Hot sauce
Bar b que sauce
Williams Sonoma peppermint bark
Magazine
Bathroom Reader
Framed photo of the kids, or the 2 of you, or the dog
Travel coffee mug
Christmas Tree ornament
Yard Art
Farmers Almanac
Favorite chips and dip - or any snacks he doesn't normally get

He likes to hunt, but his larger gifts are hunting related. Thanks for the ideas. I like the lottery ticket idea. I think I will buy several and that can be one fun gift.

A hat/cap with a light on it or built into it....my DH uses his for late night BBQing, trips to the shed, etc.

we bought an expensive one for dh last year (he was planning a hiking trip) and he has gotten more use out of that thing! (his was more expensive, it was LED, and it could tell if there was a person, and it would dim - we got it at REI)

I give my husband a can of nuts and a little note and say I am nuts about you.

Cake. My DH asked for a "from scratch" angel food cake. That's the birthday cake his mom used to make for him. He's allergic to nuts, so store-bought cakes are risky.

I'm hoping to get more ideas off of this thread.

I have more for my pets than I have for my husband so far! I have a St. Louis Blues Hoodie and a St. Louis Cardinals Hoodie so far, and a dad t shirt. I have no other ideas. He doesn't cook/bbq/hunt/drink (other than an occasional beer)/have hobbies besides his saltwater fish tank. He's going to school, taking some really hard college classes right now, so free time is spent studying. If he needs tools he can borrow/check them out from his job, so I don't need to get him anything like that.

I think I will get him some cashews, I like that someone suggested that.

My brain is fried trying to come up with more ideas.

DH LOVES his hat with the LED light in it...he uses it mostly for fishing, both ice and boat fishing. :thumbsup2
