Hi All! I just found out that on our Disney trip in 2 weeks my daughter's boyfriend is going to propose!! :lovestruc

My husband and I want to give them an engagement party when we get home but with several birthdays and Christmas coming, this needs to be budget friendly. I am hoping some of you will have some awesome ideas on how to throw an "UP" themed party as Carl and Ellie are their favorite Disney couple.

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Ballons. As many as you can fit into the space safely. All different bright colors. Play the UP soundtrack as background music. Maybe decorate with framed black and white or sepia photos of the two of them?

Balloons everywhere of course. Make them a scrapbook with just the first few pages done of their dating life and then they can fill up the rest. Have a few pages where people can write advice or congratulations.

This is a link for birthday party ideas for Up but maybe you can tweak them for an engagement party. I love the cake idea!

Oh how about having chairs similar to the movie ones for the guests of honor to sit in?

Balloons are a must. But I love the idea of making their pictures look antique. Great idea thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the link! I was thinking of making them the journal. Having the guests sign it is a wonderful idea!

Thanks for sharing your ideas :)

What a cute theme! Congratulations! How about some old fashioned bottle caps like the grape soda cap badge that Ellie gave Carl. I bought that pin at WDW in January, although I had a heck of a time finding it.

Thank you :)

My DD is a pin collecter so she has that pin :) I'm hoping to find another on our trip so they can each wear one at the party.

Ellie's Grape Soda pin badge there is a seller on ebay (name starts with Soda) and she makes them and if you need a lot she gives a discount

THANKS OP. You have just inspired our 40th anniversary celebration next April!

Once I saw your post, it was such an obvious choice. I'll be watching for the ideas others give you.

You can request it to be personalized on her thread here.

I also found this link that a couple made some items for their Up themed wedding. And LOTS of ideas from their planning journal! Oh my - what a creative woman!

Thank you for those links! All those things are just wonderful! :)

Or instead of a mailbox cake, buy a mailbox & the paint for them to make their own handprint mailbox. That can then be used at their wedding to collect their cards in.
