My family of 4 stayed 10 days on our last trip and spent $550 on food. We had a fridge in our room so we went to a grocery store and stocked up on bottled water, fruit, snacks, bagels, cheese and deli meat for sandwiches. We also brought a few things from home like instant oatmeal packets, tea, coffee, fruit roll ups and granola bars. There was a coffee maker in the room and I have a travel kettle, also I got a tip on these boards to go into the resort food court and get condiments. Another good tip on the boards is about sharing meals. Most of the portions are very large, so you might be able to share one meal between the two of you. This is even more do-able if you add an extra side dish or if you plan to have dessert.
You don't have to spend the $100 plus dollars a day that people post on these boards. You just have to do your research. There is a TON of great advice on these boards about planning every part of your trip.
