Budget Elsa dress - my Cinderella solution

Hi! After unsuccessfully trying to find an Elsa dress in size 6x, I came up with a budget solution despite my lack of sewing skills! I bought an inexpensive "Cinderella" type dress and some great aqua sheer fabric with silver snowflakes from ebay. I sewed the new fabric around the waist as a skirt overlay, and will use the leftover fabric to make a simple cape (going to attach the cape with ribbons). Daughter is thrilled!

Kind of reminded me of how I made a figure skating competition costume out of one piece swimsuit found dirt cheap on clearance and a piece of non shedding fabric I am still (30 lbs later!) using the swimsuit, actually, it's kind of flattering

My little grandson (just turned four) wanted to dress up as Elsa, so his older sister (age nine) remade one of her Cinderella dresses for him. He loved it!

Love to see a pic aswell... now its getting cliser to Halloween if you go to the resale/ goodwill type stores we buy up all kinds of dress up for cheap... if you do it in late September people are not thinking haloween and you get choices . We have found disney store clothes for 5.00
