My daughter will be six and I want to throw a magical fiary party for her. We are moving this summer, so it will be sort of a goodbye/birthday party for her. What great Fairy ideas do you have? Decorations, games, food etc...
Thank you so much!!

When my daughter turned 4 we had a sugar plum fairy party, so she was quite specific that there could be no tinkerbell type fairy stuff which made it a bit of a challenge. We played pin the star on the fairy's wand - I enlarged an image of a fairy onto poster board and then cut out paper stars. We didn't do goody bags they each made a photo frame decorated with glittery stars hearts etc foamy stickers and we took a picture of them in their fairy outfits (they came dressed as fairies) and they put the picture in the frame. They also made fairy wands out of dowel, ribbon, cardboard stars and glitter. They we had a group scavenger hunt for the fairies pixie dust and they each took home a container. The pixie dust was in clear pill containers that the pharmacist kindly gave me with childproof lids (very important) filled with large flaky traslucent glitter. I painted the lids pink to cover up the writing on it and tied ribbon around it. You could also cut out toadstools and play , musical toadstools instead of musical chairs. I made the the cake and decorated it with small artifical flowers and a toy fairy it was actually really cute. Fairy freeze tage is also easy. Just play classical music such as dance of the sugar plum fairies and they freeze when the music stops. Hope that helps.

My DD had a tinkerbell party and we had them decorate fairy houses, which were little wooden bird houses from Joann's. They decorated them with moss, twigs, and glitter. They all turned out very cute.

Haloheaven.com is a site that has lots of really reasonable "girly" type things.
Wings, tutus, tiaras, wands I have ordered from this place and everything was great.

Check out the dollar sections of Target and Michaels and the Dollar Tree. You just might find some supplies. You can get some foam crowns and decorate those as a craft activity.

I did a fairy party for my daughter last year and I made tissue flowers and put one on each girl's plate to decorate. It was very pretty and the girls loved it. Here is a link to a website that tells you exactly how to make it. I also got some colorful cloth flowers from the dollar store and glued them to pipe cleaners to make flower crowns.

I second this place. I used them and they were so reasonable. I did a Fancy Nancy party. I got boas and halos. We had a party at a dance studio. The dance instructor read a Fancy nancy book, then the girls danced. I took a picture of the girls all lined up. Then they got to shop at the boutique. Once they were Fancy they were ready to eat. I used the Fancy Nancy books as centerpieces on the table. I also had pink and purple everywhere. After I had the girls line up again with the halos and boas on for their Fancy picture. Then I made a photo with both the plain and fancy as a thank you. The boas you can cut in half and it should be fine for a 6 year old. They will also mix and match colors if you want. I just did pink since it wsa easier for them not to complain.

Anything made with tulle is easy. My daughter made wings with craft wire. You could make them, and tutus cheap and easy. Same with wands. Then get the glitter, etc., and let them decorate, preferably outside! For snack you could do something light and airy. I only have one daughter, so it is a lot of fun doing the girly stuff.
