Ive been shopping around for my car rental for next March, and Budget Car Rentals On-Airport (MCO) seems to be coming out some 50 quid cheaper than the companies I'm familiar with (Alamo / Dollar).
Ive never used Budget, so am initialy a little wary of them....

Anyone any comments on them ?

I had originally booked my car hire with Budget but had to change it to Dollar because im paying a cash deposit. I think Budget is one of the few companies that supply the traditional full tank of fuel, and you return the car full to them. With Dollar, you have to pay for an overpriced tank of fuel on pick-up, and can then take the car back empty (which is very unlikely since you wouldn't want to take the chance, and they obviously know it - imo it's another way to fleece you).

We used them last year, but it was through USrentacar. When going to collect the car we had to wait about an hour as they had no more minivans left and ours was being cleaned. We went Nov 22nd and it was Thanksgiving day the day after so that was why. Also by the time we got there it was about 6.45pm as we'd been on the later flight and we noticed all the other car hire companies had notices on their desks saying " No more cars available".
The minivan was a Kia Sedona and was larger than the usual Dodge Grand Caravan that we normally get. Only had just over 500 miles on the clock and was fine.
Apart from the wait we had no problems with them at all, even when we returned the car, the lady told us to take our time getting everything out and to take as long as we wanted.:thumbsup2
We are using them again this year as like you say they are cheaper than anyone else, we usually use Dollar.

I use Holiday Autos, who are part of Lastminute.com and use Alamo in the US. Just done a quick check and they are £3 cheaper for what we want than Budget!! That's a Wendy's quarter pounder with biggie fries and coke:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Last year we used Holiday Autos, and wasnt too impressed with what we ended up with, which was USRentaCar, and offsite (which I didnt expect), a very long wait and several phone calls for a minibus to pick us up. I think the mistake I made was not specifying on-airport, and just looking at the final qouted price, which it turns out was cheaper because it was off-airport.

Sorry confused there :confused3 usrentacar are a broker based in the UK, are you saying they now have offices in the States?

i have used usarentacar for my last trip and my upcoming trip, have got an economy car for £89 for this trip, last time we went to the budget desk and got our keys and then went to the car park where the car was and drove off, coming back we just dropped the car off in the same car park and posted the keys back at the budget desk, very easy :thumbsup2

Try Carjet.co.uk

I've used them. They are a broker so you may got off site but cheap as the preverbial fries!
