Budget Car Rental, any frequent renters here?

Question - I usually rent from Budget, but I have not seen this situation before. Today I checked the prices for my dates, as we all know the prices change almost daily. So I was ready to reserve a car b/c the price went down. It is $206.79 for a full size car w/ my codes. That is a Chevy Impala (or similar). When I click on that price, I'm shown another price, and a different car, a Ford Fusion (w/ the same "or similar" disclaimer). The price I get after I click the first price is $241.79, which is $35 more than the first price, then the taxes and fees is $82.13, for a total of $288.92. What happened to my price of $206.79??? Has anybody else experienced this? Also I need a car w/ a big trunk b/c we have a long stay. Volleyball tournament (5 days) then WDW (4 days). I love my large suitcases, need to fit two of them in the trunk plus my other stuff. And my two kids. Any advice??

My guess is that your initial price that you see is a weekly price. Since you are staying longer than that, you are also getting billed for the two additional days (and then taxes and fees).

I thought that at first, but when I divide $206.79 by 7 and multiply by 9 I get $265.87, which is higher than what I get on the reservation page of $241.79. Weird...
