Budget Beach Ideas

We are taking a short trip to the beach this weekend ( 8 older College age adults). And I was looking for ways to do things on a budget. We already have a condo big enough for all 8 of us plus more. What are some things that you guys bring to the beach to make things a bit easier. we know margaritas but other than that. Thanks for your help!

BTW: Food ideas will be awesome also

Things I would bring:
Sunscreen (I am a red-head)
Aloe Vera lotion or burn lotion (heh…see above)
old blanket for the beach
ice chest
Inflatable raft
Frisbee
Balls
Super soaker water guns

For food, I would pack individually packages foods like chips, granola bars, bottled water and canned drinks. Plan sandwiches for lunch. Uncrustables are super easy, but I would not consider them budget!

I would pre-cook evening meals in disposable metal pans...a big pan of enchiladas, lasagna…or pre-grill chicken breast to serve tossed in a Caesar salad mix (one of those bags with everything in it!)…hot dogs with canned chili.

With 8 people, you should be able to plan meals and divide it all up in advance.

We go to the beach a couple of times a summer.

We always get Subway sandwiches and get each half wrapped separately to cut down on the amount of sand you're eating. lol

We also always bring boogie boards. They are like short styrofoam surfboards with a strap for your wrist so you can't lose it. My boys LOVE this thing. If you bring nothing else bring this!!!

I would avoid having to rent things while there. Those rental companies charge huge fees for linens, etc. I would also bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas, if you have the room to carry them in your vehicles. Generally, any groceries that you think you might need would be less expensive at home than at a beach resort area.
