Hi all...with the dropping CDN $ and hubby being unemployed(a (recently)...we are looking at finding a budget hotel/condor resort for 5 people. We have flight and tickets purchased so just want to save some $ on accommodations. I prefer $100 or less with kitchenette if possible, some sort of suite etc. We will be at Universal and Seaworld. Originally had been looking at $200 per night..Going middle of March.
Not sure what is decent, does not have to be fancy just clean. Decent pool too would be nice.

When we are doing a budget trip we stay at either Residence Inn or Springhill Suites at Sea World. RI had a full kitchen and SS has small fridge and microwave. Both include breakfast. We usually spend about $80-90 depending in the season. And both include front of line access pass to SW.

I would stay in a condo. We've stayed twice at Windsor Hills for around $89 a night for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo. That way we cooked breakfast, packed a lunch or picked up subway on the way, and ate out dinners. I am sure there are others, that could be cheaper. We've booked one for mid Feb at another gated community for $730 for the week, all fees included.

You could try slightly further out in areas like Davenport, Champions gate etc That will bring price down for sure. We've stayed before in Regal Palms which would be perfect for 5 people as it's a Townhome only resort and has great resort pool and waterpark area. Website RegalPalmsPrivateRentals dot com worth trying which will get you quotes direct from owners in the resort which will make it cheaper again than going through management company or travel agent.

Hope that helps.

So I searched Crestwynd Bay for mid march: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rental...lando&from-date=2016-03-13&to-date=2016-03-19

I have never stayed there. Unless I get knee surgery I never will b/c they are 2 stories. But it's RIGHT beside Windor Hills. It doesn't get mentioned much around here but it's a starting point.

Here's one listed for $66/night for the time I guessed at, and a range of $59-$75/night. it's 3br/3ba

There's also a goverment employees vacation timeshares website that I looked into once. It had silverlake on it which is right by AK.
You know what? Prices have gone up since I looked there 2 years ago. So NM on that :)

You can try TUG2 to see about renting a time share from someone.

Anything with a kitchen will be your biggest budget help. Unless you don't have a car, in which you may need to be in DTD.
