Ok...I admit it.......we plan most of our trip around eating and drinking.

Drinking is easy  (well except at MK where it is probably needed the most) We will drink around the world (several times), monorail drink around the world, ect......

But food is much more difficult! We are on a tighter budget than usual but do want to splurge when we can. Only wifey and I (I.E. two overgrown kids that refuse to grow up or act our age)

Here's my prelim. list and why:

Canada, loved it in the past but probably try it for lunch to save a few bucks.
Coral Reef, atmosphere, late lunch
Rose and Crown, good food good prce
Fultons, my wifes favorite-she is addicted to crab legs

Now I'm tryin to decide on these (we have never eaten at any of them):
Blue Zoo-menu looks interesting
Shula's-are the steaks really that good?
Cali. Grill-If you take out the view is the food alone worth the cost? We like sushi but are VERY picky about it
Jiko's-sure seems to get great reviews but not sold on the menu
Artist point-same as above
Kouzzina-has anyone eaten there? I read very little about it but love to watch her on Iron Chefs

OR where do you think is a must do? No character meals, no buffets and as much as we'd like V&A is to many $$$$$$$$

Feel free to pick it apart, we want yor opinions of the good/bad/ugly. We need 8 meals

Thanks for the help :goodvibes

we have eaten at Jiko, FF, YSH and GC of the signature options. All were great but CG and Jiko stand out. Maybe because we did those first, or it was just the meal I picked but I'd pay to eat at CG or Jiko again no problem.

Since you are doing the monorail tour, have you considered Kona? They have a great menu and most people prefer it over 'Ohana.

bluezoo - Very good! Highly recommend it.

Cali Grill - I think it is worth it if you take away the view. Very good food. But I've never had the sushi so I can't help you there.

Jiko - amazing food, but if the menu doesn't appeal to you than I would suggest skipping it.

AP - Was ok. But again, if the menu doesn't appeal to you then why bother?

Kouzzina - Had a bad experience there. Service was awful and everything was waaaaaay oversalted!

Shula's - they steaks ARE really that good
Cali Grill - the food and the service have both been excellent in our experience; I'm not a sushi person, but my DH and DD raved about it;
Jiko - I enjoyed it; DH does not want to go back
AP - we've eaten there several times and always enjoy it
Kouzzina - we ate there in Sept with DH, 2 DDs, 2 DSILs, and DGS; most everyone chose a different dish, and everyone loved their meal.

I've been to all on the list except Shulas (fear of live lobsters on display keeps me away).

bluezoo is my absolute favorite. Second to Victoria & Alberts for us. Love the menu, the drinks, the more adult vibe here. I've never had a single dish here that I didn't absolutely love. We try to go every vacation; it's that good.

Ca Grill. The sushi is pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but it's pretty good. The view is nice here but the restaurant is noisy and busy. If you go after fireworks, it's a much nicer place to dine. I would not go here for anything other than the sushi as the other food is just okay. We tend to go here more when we take all of our adult children rather than on those vacations where it's just my husband and I because we just can't stand the noise level.

Jiko. The appetizers here are better than the entrees. The entrees aren't bad but if you go and have an appetizer, you may be disappointed with the course that follows. I now get an appetizer and a soup (they definitely have the best soups at WDW). This is one of the few places where I will have wine because they have such an excellent and unique selection.

Artist Point. It's not one of my favorites. I think it's that it's got a heavier menu, more meat choices and I'm just not a huge meat eater. I also strongly dislike the rustic decor here. I like it okay and don't mind eating here but I wouldn't go out of my way for a special meal here.

Kouzzina. We really hated this place. We were 4 adults and it was so noisy with slow slow (but friendly) service. Everyone ordered different appetizers and entrees (no desserts). My husband enjoyed his fish stew, the other 2 thought theirs were meh, and mine was cold. I got their Greek lasagne, recommended by the waiter, and it was served cold. I couldn't eat it. The waiter finally came back around after everyone was done and saw that I hadn't eaten it. I told him why and he at least comped my entree. I can forgive the mess up; it happens. However, the noise level here really annoyed all of us.

Of these, the only one I've eaten at is Kouzzina. My wife and I ate there in October, and we LOVED it!

They had a nice mixture of traditional Greek items and non-Greek items on the menu (the whole broiled fish was excellent), but most of the dishes did seem to have a Mediterranean flair. I'd definitely go back again.
