BTTF - Is it still so damn rough?

We were just at USO / IOA this past weekend and the only ride we went on that bothered DH and me was Back to the Future. Nothing else in either park presented a problem, and nothing we've ever been on at WDW has bothered us, but for some reason this ride made both of us uncomfortably queasy. It moves around alot and is very rough - we also thought it was extremely warm during the ride and I think that contributed to our discomfort as well.

We both agreed that we'll take a pass on this one the next time we visit.

If they ever do rehab this attraction, how about updating the gal in the video you watch in the queue - those 3 foot wide earrings she is wearing are so dated!!

This is by far the roughest simulator ride I have ever been on. It also seems to be getting worse. I don't remember being this awful when I was younger. It jerks you way too much for no reason really. The ride is already pretty uncomfortable with those hard seats. IMO they need to smooth it out a little.

i think that BTTF isn't that rough. it's just like Jimmy Neutron and that isn't rough and the seats are hard there too. Just my opinion :)

The ride will continue to get bumpier as it gets older and it's something Universal likes because as it ages it becomes more thrilling.

Hmmm.....interesting. I have had the opposite experience from everyone else, I think it's gotten smoother over the years. I remember when I was a young teen, thinking it was incredibly jerky. I didn't go to Universal at all for five years after moving to New Orleans, and since I've been back I've ridden many times. Every time, I am surprised at how much smoother the ride seems. Guess it's partly a matter of your own body, how it takes different forces and movements at different times in your life.
Funny story though. The first couple of years after US opened, my family was theme park junkies. We hit two or three parks (Disney parks included) every week. My mom developed these odd bruises on her wrists and hips. She couldn't figure it out for the longest time, until one day when she sat down in the BTTF ride vehicle and pulled down the lap bar. Her bruises were from the restraints!!! :rotfl2: Guess the human body wasn't really designed to ride thrill rides that often! :confused3 We laid off the theme parks for a week or so, till the bruises cleared up.

I hated this ride, I have never needed to puke so much in ages!
