I currently have an ADR for the Big Thunder Mountain Ranch BBQ for a Saturday afternoon in August for me, DH and DD4. This will be our first time there and I'm very excited (DH and DD4 have no idea - I am the travel researcher- they just show up and have fun). I heard sometimes there are characters at the petting zoo- are there ever characters at the BBQ?

But my main question is this: I just read that on weekends there will be a music of nashville show there instead of the regular show. Knowing nothing about either show, which would be more fun for DD4? I have time free on a Tuesday to move the ADR if the regular show is more kid friendly.

The BBQ is separate from the petting zoo and the jamboree area. The BBQ has some entertainment, I think maybe a singer and a piano or guitar player. I haven't been but have read about it. It used to have characters, but that was quite a while ago and was discontinued. The Nashville show is Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and is in the Big Thunder Ranch jamboree area, not at the BBQ. The BBQ show is the same each day of the week.

thanks! We've never been back there- it sounds like a lot to see. Can't wait!

We love the BBQ and always eat there before the 1/2 Marathon. The food is always good and all you can enjoy, so go hungry!
